I find the new format easier to read and more pleasing to the eye.

Obviously, this is all a big change and change is always difficult. But my only problem (so far) is getting the navigation under my belt. Once I have that squared away, I'll not likely have any complaints. Just a matter of adapting.

This was a lot of hard work on someone's part. Thanks for all the work that was done and the tweaks that will inevitably have to be done as well. :)

Dear god, is this minimalist nonsense ever going to end?

Whatever happened to several decades of interaction design research? Apparently it's much more efficient to hide everything under several more clicks...

Can we please get an option to choose the old theme? I'm all for new and updated, but this is stepping back to 1991 in terms of design and efficiency. It looks incredibly cheap. And user functionality has been brutally murdered in exchange for aesthetics. (The white, good grief, my eyes!)

Any good designer knows design serves function, not the other way around!

Oh boy....call me conservative and whatnot, but I am NO fan of this new look. I hope you didn't pay for the design.

Thanks for removing the "blinding white"

PS. I don't know how fond of the "go to page" search everyone else is, but I love the thing and use VERY frequently. Just a thought.

I appreciate the contemporary/trendy minimalism, and can appreciate both the interest in moving on from the datedness of the old theme, and in developing an updated 'brand' appearance. As a number of us have mentioned it, however, I would like to note that the site breadcrumbs are a primary means of navigation, and while it is true that new users will not miss them, it is old users who are best able to assess whether a redesign marks a downgrade in functionality. In this one respect this redesign does, at this point.

Otherwise great work, IMO. :D

Holy WebPage - this new look is the ugliest thing I've seen in a long time. Very hard to scan down the list of posts and pick out titles - everything just mushes together. Grid lines would help a lot, as would making the titles a little larger than the rest of the text. I am viewing from a PC, why make it look like a bad smartphone? PLEASE give an option to view it the old way!

Will it be possible to make contrast in the color between visited and new links in forums more prominent? Thank you!

not a fan at all, old version was more user friendly and easier to view IMO... hate when things change just for the sake of change... sure update needed things, but a complete redo is unnecessary 98% of the time...

I wish there was a way for the USER to allow if they want the new design or the old design.... bc I surely would revert back in a heart beat!

edit - Sorry for all the wasted time and efforts that went into this redesign 2.0 as now that Ive been browsing a bit longer now - I am even more disappointed than I originally thought. This redesign is one of the worst Ive seen, absolutely horrible and from the looks of the posts it seems that most of the users agree, so I hope that the powers that be see that and do some reverting bc this is just a completely horrible redesign! Even browsing on a desktop using the MOBILE view is better than this redesign!

Really not as bad as 16 pages of complaints (and counting) makes out - and looks like a lot of effort by someone(s) in developing and testing which is appreciated whatever the outcome!

The new style is difficult to read and locate titles/files.

the old categories sections - RPG, card games etc was very helpful.

would be great if users could select the new or the old look.

thanks

Disk4mat wrote:White background in posts darkened now.

The color scheme of the new template was based on Microsoft's Outlook Email, and the white in the background was (we made it a bit darker now) the same white used as the background by Gmail, Youtube, Reddit and pretty much every other major site. Unless your eyes get tired on all of those sites, this is more a matter of not being used to the new look. The grey background of the old template was far darker than what is considered normal on websites, most people initially described it as depressing, though I'm sure most of you who frequented the site did not find it depressing after a while. It's a matter of growing comfortable with a certain design.

I hate Outlook scheme and many others colors used on mail sites.
Please put some dark scheme and leave at the user make the choice in control panel.
