My pleasure. And this is happening in many of the listings. I hope it gets rectified.
Thanks for the quick response and action.

Just a bug I noticed with the premium downloader

On this post:
viewtopic.php?t=415304

The filename from up.to includes a special character ñ

The downloader scripts are not properly parsing it and though it downloads the file to the server, it is not able to serve the file back to the user, sending a 404 instead.

Also, are those mirror links allowed? They are paid survey fodder.

I'll look into the unknown character problem. It's a very rare error which is probably why it hasn't been fixed yet. Regarding paid surveys- I went to those links and did not see any, which one has them?

both of them (tho one is badly formed so you dont get to the download)

You click to DL and it pops up and requires you to do a survey supposedly to get the link.

Got it. I will contact the OP, this is against the rules.

Well 20 mins after you wrote this, he fixed the bad link, but left both survey download links up.

Sorry to harp, I just really think this is too far, which is why I am staying on top of it.

I don't like the passworded files, despise the ones who double password their files, in the name of stopping people from reposting their files as easily elsewhere. But that really doesn't stop them, just inconveniences them, but inconveniences the rest of the users far more, who maybe will download a file, forget to unpack it right away, and then have to try to remember from the obfuscated file name what the title was, and go find the post to find the password. Kinda like how DRM inconveniences the normal user more than it does to stop pirating. But...at least it is being done with good intentions, and not in an effort to get paid.

But this kind of blatant profit oriented linking is even worse than that IMO. By putting the post up that way, you stop some other uploader from posting the same title without such blatantly profit oriented links, and when/if the one good link goes down (which we all knows happens) leaves just those survey links up.

Maybe I'm wrong for feeling so strongly about it, but it just really rubs me wrong.

I found another one of these rare errors

viewtopic.php?f=1295&p=1185783#p1185783

The file link is (Closed Filehost) https://ul.to/hck7gd60

And it clearly downloads the file to your server, but when it tries to serve it back to the web browser it 404's out, like it can't parse the file name properly.

Just thought I'd give you a heads up on another rare error condition :)

"You will be asked for a login, enter the one above or your own. The system will now download your file and provide it for you."

My logon does not work. What is the default logon as in "enter the one above..."
Thanks

The enter the one above part is from when we had posted a public trial account so just ignore that bit. I tried your account just now and it worked fine for me, are you capitalizing the first letter of your username (it should not be capitalized)? Are you using swiftkey or another keyboard with non-standard character encoding?

I'm seeing something for the first time today.

I'm downloading from the ebook section, and the uploader named the file, for example 11.rar

I tried both up.to and rapidgator links for that file with the premium downloader, and ended up with a different file altogether. That ends up being a much larger rar file with a pdf inside that is password protected.

I've had this happen with 4 files today, where I end up with a different file completely. I've verified the files on the OP's original links as being correct, and then went back and tested the downloader again, and still got the wrong files.

It appears the downloader is seeing that someone else used the downloader to get a file of the same name, and is serving it from a download cache, rather than redownloading. But the files are vastly different.

EDIT: so far every file it has happened with has been named like ##.rar file (i.e. 8.rar 11.rar, etc)
