Guys I went through 38 pages of this thread and I have to say it is very confusing!
There are people who are using different devices and asking for different solutions, and that makes you think it will work on your device. And I am talking about PNAs not PDAs.
There seem to be part of us who have the navman version of Miomap with SmartST_CE and .map files (this version is apparently sold in Western European countries)
and there are those who have the Miero Miomap with miomap.exe and cpf files (this version is sold in Eastern European countries).

Now, can we try and avoid this confusion.
I have the western european version of this miomap and I have no clue where to start since everything in this thread is messed up.
If anyone has the western version can you let us know how you managed to install new maps or crack the thing so we can use additional maps on it?

@zing
I gues that nobody cracked the western version of miomap, and until now, no one shared or uploaded the software on the scene. And on mio web we can not see any software or map update for western version. If you want to test the est european version of the software just tell as what you need. One more thing for your knowledge it exist another version of miomap 2008 a chinese one. And from this year we will have a new one(perhaps in may).

goodoane thanks for the input. I am planning to install the eastern version on my mio moov 310 that has western version, but i have no clue where to start, I just downloaded the Update patch from above but i dont think it does anything. I mean I haven't done anything yet because I don't know where to start.
Can someone explain to me the steps to start installing this on a western version of mio moov 310?
Thank you!

Right. Finally someone noticed it. I bought my device in US (moov 300) and it's SmartST based SW with North American maps, these are just .map files, not .cpf files. About says "MioMap 2008 build 6.65.0007" but it's not the sw from this topic. I tried this sw as well, it looks almost the same with few hardly noticeable differences.
@Zing, I used miopocket to "unlock" device (it's not really unlock but loads new shell) to start this topic's sw.

How can we, who have SmartST sw, use these fine maps posted here? Highly appreciated, give wrz$..
Thanks.

So, I installed the cracked version (2.2.7277839) and everythink seems OK, but it doesn't works with the new maps, f.e. europe_full_gre_200807 with the authentic lic file, where we can find a cracked one?

strongie, if you managed to installed the Mireo sw on your SmartST, can't you just use the maps provided on this threads?
Sorry but everything is very confusing still so I am not sure what I am talking about exactly :o

I would like to keep the sw and maps that come with device (SmartST) and just add new maps as I need it. Using miomap.exe sw from this topic means having both of them at same time which is not something I'm looking for, I also need US maps that are already preinstalled. Or, I can, offcourse, completely reinstall the device with miomap.exe and maps but most of the links with maps & sw are dead and takes ages to do it.

mermigas, pepper

Can you lay out cards on the countries separately but not the general archive?
Not always conveniently to swing all archive for the one card.

strongie I haven't tried it yet on my mio moov 310, it came with German maps, I am thinking of installing the Mireo version on it but what I'd like to know, would it actually work the same way as the western version? would i be able to install any cpf files I want? Would TMC work on it?
I'll probably try to install it tomorrow, i'll use navmanunlock method, its much lighter than miopocket.

No waries, miomap.exe installs separately, it has no imapct on preinstalled smartst, even if installed in flash mem. It's your choice which one you will start on boot time, or by inserting the SD card or from unlocked shell. Be sure your configuration is right in miomap.ini and that would be all.
Does someone have list of differences, I noticed some. Which one is more functional?

As far as I can see, the .map files are Navteq or similar and is the more recent acquisition by Mitac who now own the rights to it.
The .cpf files are Teleatlas, or here in Australia Sensis maps. A far inferior map.
As earlier posted come May this year there should be a newer version of Miomap, which will no doubt be fully Navteq.

Other nav programs seem by what I am reading in this and many other forums are also following Mio's lead, and heading in the Navteq direction.

Can we hold out until May??? Good question. Do we struggle, get confused and deny our right to be adventurous by trying to get this going...
Yes we do... Because we can't help ourselves

why is noone bothering to crack the navteq platform on it since everything is going to be changed to that platform anyway?
That's probably the only one I haven't seen any workaround for it yet.
The mireo miomap platform with cpf is going to be extinct this year since Mio will be switching to SmartST and Navteq system with .map files. Right?
