Short update: I had solid progress in reverse-engineering the trial expiration mechanism, so hold on for a couple more evenings while I'm writing a new patch and you should be good to go without the need for the windows reinstallment.

It's done @SasbayWidda. Same link, same pass.

New (pather.exe) VT hash: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/0da ... 7bf0f8a201
Look at the readme for an updated guide. It takes a few more steps but a robust approach.

In case the trial ever expires, you can redo the steps and should be good to go again with your old database.

I've added your suggested servers into exclusion, they indeed also do apply for authorization plus one additional that acts as a sneaky delayed check.

If you have a decent antivirus you shouldn't have any problem with the patch but in case you're using the default Windows "Defender" you'll have to disable it or it will key removing the file as we do a few more steps to make sure that eagle is "fresh and new".

* when you run Eagle for the first time, you might need to run it twice. Make sure that its "Welcome to Eagle" window opens.

Let me know if that works for you and if it does enjoy.

Hello, @pointerToObject ! And also, to anyone that may have read or followed this topic in the past year or will find it later.

I'm happy to confirm that this second patcher works like a charm! I followed your updated instructions to a T and it did the trick in one go.

A few observations:
  • Indeed, the software needs to connect to the web at the very beginning, lest it denies first launch. But once it's been done, you can safely block all connections to the relevant remote servers: the app won't attempt other checks.
  • It seems to be technically "registered," I've seen no mention of the trial version nor of any 30-days limit. With the remote servers blocked, I expect it should stay this way. @pointerToObject In a month's time I'll edit this post to confirm whether it stands or if the steps do need to be redone.
  • There is of course no access to built-in online features, such as the Eagle Community (https://community-en.eagle.cool/) or the plugin center, which confirms that the firewall rules work as intended.

@pointerToObject you did a wonderful job, and I'm so excited I'm at a loss for grateful words. So, really, thank you so much for the time you put into making this happen!

Also @FRiEDMiND I tried to dig into the code using your instructions, and failed (it's definitely in over my head...)! But I really appreciate you giving them, as well as the interest and time you took to try your hand at it!
