If it does not belong anywhere else but is about Windows, post it here.

Requires: Reading of the "Gain Access to Filesystem and Registry"-Tutorial @ viewtopic.php?f=1113&t=153749

http://hotfile.com/dl/96044268/4f245de/ ... t.xap.html

In short:
Deploy the *.xap, copy the ClearCust.provxml into /Windows/ and run HTC Connection Setup

The way it works:
It changes the Wp7 Developer Site to the Localhost, stopping it from "phoning home" to check if your developer license is still valid.

before:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg]
"PortalUrlProd"="https://developerservices.windowsphone.com/Services/WindowsPhoneRegistration.svc/01/2010"
"PortalUrlInt"="https://developerservices.windowsphone-int.com/Services/WindowsPhoneRegistration.svc/01/2010"
after:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg]
"PortalUrlProd"="http://127.0.0.1"
"PortalUrlInt"="http://127.0.0.1"

Man, that's an awesome find. Too bad there's nothing out there yet for Samsung and us LG users.

Its just that HTC has a very active modding community. I am sure LG,Samsung also has some access to system/reg in some of their apps...which can be exploited. so its just a matter of time till there is a way found.

I know, I've been with HTC from 2006 all the way up until WP7. If there's one thing I miss, it's the easily hackable software.
