If it does not belong anywhere else but is about Windows, post it here.

Been waiting for this for a while!

For months, we and dozens of our partner companies have been laying the groundwork for the Windows Phone 7.5 update—and making solid progress. As a result, we now expect to start rolling it out in the next week or two. At that time, we’ll also refresh the Where’s My Phone Update? table to reflect the worldwide roll out status.

Now all we need is the new devices to arrive soon!

A pity most of them are only single core cpus. Wonder why manufacturers like HTC and Samsung don't put a dual core cpu like in their Android phones.

Well I would think becuase the OS in it's current state is not ready for a dual core CPU. If you think about it, look how smooth the OS and t's apps run at the moment on a single core CPU. With a windows phone, I dont think it is necessary. Look at apple for example. For the last 10 years or so they have ran only on a single core cpu and look at the quality of apps/games on thier i-devices. However, I would not be surprised that with the next iteration of WP (windows phone 8 ) you'll see dual & quad core support. I read, multicpu support would mainly improve video/imaging on a phone.

Yes, what a great way to compete with Apple, by releasing it a few days before iOS5 and iPhone 5.

Mango > Apple

Why? Blind people can use Mango, but they can't use Apple :(

There are users that said that using the forced method to update will not update the drivers.

As such, they get Mango, but cannot run apps like compass.

I used the force update. It still was prompted to install a samsung update for my phone but my firmware remained the same. The only issue with the forced update, is you will loose MMS messages (cant send or recieve picture/video messages) and you have to manually enter your APN/data info to get data back. Only way to get MMS back, from what i've read, is to use the Samsung Carrier Profile app, but your device has to be sim unlocked for it to work...I know, I tried. I dont know how it is on other manufacturer devices.

I will fiddle around with this build for a while until I get the official confirmation from my carrier and then revert back to nodo and reinstall the official carrier updated.

And if you can't execute Samsung Tools, try Interop Unlocking:

I had tried ADC multiple times but still no luck. Everything works like a charm but MMS. I am not sure how interop unlocking will fix this. I need to be able to enter a second APN field to enter the carrier MMS settings but I cant on this WP. Interop unlocking only allows you to run homebrew with native code on your device.

So is 3G data service working?

That's my main concern.

3G data is working. You may just need to enter your APN info manually. Find out what the user name, password & APN & your all set. You can get this info with a quick google usually, or just call up your carrier tell them you erased it by accident and would like the info. Or alternatively, go to 'Settings>>Cellular>>Edit APN' on y our phone and write down all that info down somewhere and save it(APN, User Name, Password, etc) and re-enter it after you flash Mango.
