A: The length of the string would be equal to the difference between the original quantity of uncut string and the remaining length of string after the piece in question was removed. Unless of course this piece was not the first length cut from the original quantity, then your fucked!

There is always the theory that all string is equal in length to the combined circumference of George Foremans fingers (excluding thumbs).
