After spending a couple weeks looking online for a free Netflix account, I came across a site that actually works - I did the survey, downloaded the txt file, and the accounts worked. My question - can I get in any sort of trouble for using one of these accounts? Thanks.

That's not true, It's not hacking in any sense of the word.
If netflix finds out about the account the worst they'll do is terminate it for going against it's policies. They might look for accounts associated with that one in an attempt to fish out more bogus users, but that's pretty much all.

Just unsubscribe from the services you had to subscribe to on the survey, those are more expensive than a netflix sub.
