Since a week or so whenever I download a mobi format ebook instead of going into my Downloads folder it opens the ebook in Kindle for PC and ends up in the Temp folder.
I've been looking for a way to change that but I can't seem to find how.
I have Windows 7. Can someone help me?

Grtz, Kietie

Sounds like your 'always open' setting has been activated by accident

Are you using chrome? If so, next time you download something when it appears as a download at the bottom of your browser click on the little arrow to the right of it and see if the 'Always open files of this type' is ticked, if so select it again to untick

Default location of downloads can be changed in the advanced settings menu

Hope that helps

Stan, I use Firefox and I just checked and have no kindle addons/extensions/plugins.

Nonny, my default setting is set to the Downloads folder.

Another thing is that when it's a rar or zip file, half of the time it ends up in my Temp folder instead of my Downloads folder and I have no idea why. That has been happening for a few months now. The mobi files automatically opening in Kindle for PC is a recent thing.

Nonny, thanks to your suggestion I fixed it.
I changed my download option to "Ask me where I want to download it to" instead of the option to go to the Downloads folder without asking.
Next time I downloaded a mobi ebook I saw in the little popup screen that the "open with kindle" was checked instead of "save file". Don't know how that happened... maybe it was something in the last update of Kindle for PC a few days ago?
