Hi all just a quick message to say that after today I have decided to stop using this website. I found this website a while back and have used it to download a few books and also upload/share books that I have bought and paid for, however it is always a chore to share anything. In the past I have amended my posts to fit in with a standard layout and the mods/admins have always been polite and steered me in the right direction when ever my post has not met the required layout also when ever the links on my posts have stopped working I have endeavored to put new links up as soon as I could. Today however I found the mod to be a bit rude in the reply to a new book I was sharing that came out today and was bought and paid for. Okay so I missed out the by between book title and author and forgot to add the .epub at the end of the subject line however in the requirements on the post it states any epub reader, and in all fairness if you are downloading books illegally then I'm pretty much certain that the person downloading has the know how to convert the book to their required format. Another thing I forgot to add was the connector to the last book in the series and again if you're able to search for the book in question I'm sure you're able to search for the previous book just by searching the author. Unfortunately however all this would not have been an issue had the mod shown a little more (can't think of the word sorry) in their reply. A simple I've just reviewed your post and noticed that you had missed the by out between book title and author also you have missed the file format from the end of the subject title and could you please add the connector book to the end of the post please Thanks Mod. That would have been great I mean if we do not share things on this site then the site will die plain and simple show a little respect to the members who are keeping this site alive. I have pasted the reply to my post below for you to judge for yourselves if you think I am right in what I am saying or wrong cheers Corv!

Add missing extension in subject line
Example:
(.ePUB)(.MOBI)(.PDF)
or if more than ONE format you can also put:
(.ePUB)+

and missing "by"
Dance of Chaos by David Dalglish
not
Dance of Chaos David Dalglish

When a book is part of a series and other books in that series are posted here, we ask that you provide "connector" links to those other book posts. this makes it easier for the users to find the rest of the series.
Place them underneath Download/Mirror links.

~ plus check links on posts you're connecting to, are "still active" : if dead, and OP hasn't been on-line for more than a month (check profile), the post can be EXPIRED, and books re-released.]

Contact a Mod for checking, when you have finished the above edits.

In all fairness, moderators handle a lot of incomplete releases and they are still human, they have emotions, they can get tired, crabby, annoyed, etc.
Even I once in a while received messages I considered 'stern' but I decided not to let it bother me.
Also this is the net, the virtual world, we never know the tone / nuances the sentences / words delivered to us. Who knows that LB actually is speaking to you softly, while patting your hands and pointing out missing words or sections.
Second, every forums have its own rules, it's what makes the forum goes on and orderly. Besides the eBook releases has already its own template, surely it's not hard to just fill in the blanks correctly? ;) Also you can try opening some other releases to make sure yours is similar to what has been floating around.
I believe most of users here appreciate what you have shared so don't let some PM discourage you! :D
Hope you change your mind. Have a nice day :)

Hi Miss Pinky believe it or not every time I have used the template there is always something I have missed and it depends which mod you get as to what advice they give. I posted one book and was told that it was wrong and updated it only to be told by an admin that I had done it wrong again even though what was wrong was what the mod had told me to do. The real problem I had was that there was no need to be so rude the mod could have made the 2 word changes in seconds far quicker than the amount of time it took to type up that whole message and again the mod could have just said Hi Corvus77 you missed a few words out but I filled them in for you but could please add the link to the previous book thanks! LB. That would have been far better especially to a contributing member. If the mod is having a bad day then fair enough don't bother editing posts that day take a break and chill out, read a book or watch some tv. Mobilism is a community of people sharing our books, apps, etc etc I know the mods and admins are more than likely unpaid but that is not a reason to be rude as without community members there is no website. If I just leeched off the website then I would not have cause to complain but as a contributor I at least deserve a friendly reply.

I am really sorry to see you go, I wish you could make an effort to stay and do things right like so many other posters. I don't see anything rude in that pm that bothered you so much but I understand that you have a right to feel how you feel.

About point one, I would just like to point out that after all this time, seems odd that this keeps happening and there's always something you miss!

Point two is understandable, you'd rather have the mod fixing your post for you. But I wonder how many posters feel that way, how many incomplete posts mods have to deal with every day.

Point three is another odd reasoning, shouldn't it work both ways? do not post if you've had a bad day and you are not ready to post correctly?

In any case, I hope you change your mind, I really do! :)

For months and years, Corvus77, I have pestered merry60 with one message after another that can be summed up best by their common subject header, "Whatever happened to...?"

With re to you, thanks to your post above, I know in advance. Thank you. But that is only if you do not return. Why make a public post of a private decision if you do not want to be convinced you should stay? Well I think you should (stay). Any community is better for its members; with no members there is no community. And you are as integral to the success of this community as the next person.

We each find help or hurt where we seek it. fwiw, I find nothing rude about Libertybelle's PM. She pointed to the few errors in your post that required correcting, and left you to it. She demeaned neither your post, nor you. Nonetheless, I agree with NovaPhoenix, "I understand that you have a right to feel how you feel."

I have visited other eBook sharing sites but did not linger for long; my personality craves order, order that Mobilism provides. No question, Mobilism argues for posts that are very tidy... too tidy, some would say. The confines of following the post's structure can be difficult for a few posters, but the mods, to a one, are here to help. (Sheesh, you should see all the corrections my posts require... Still!) Theirs is a thankless role and task, but necessary. Please consider your ~4 release posts over 2 years to be insufficient tutelage.

Writing is a noble profession; reading is a noble pursuit; sharing books with friends and family is selflessly noble. (Let's leave for another discussion the notions re piracy! :-)) The act of sharing good books with other people reveals passion and a search for kindred spirits. Pair those quests with the attempt to learn something new, no matter how inconsequential in the grand scheme of things (e.g., Mobilism's posting format), and you - we each - become a better person for the effort.

'Tis your decision to stay or go, of course, but we all are made richer by your decision to stay. In fact, by everyone's decision to participate in this community - however they can.
