How about Sylvain Reynard's Gabriel's Inferno Series ? With literary reference, rich language and unique style ... this series is a treat to read in my opinion.

Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day is a good one if you're looking for an intensive and explosive story.

Novels
1. A Monster Calls
This is by far the best I've ever read.
2. A Street Cat Named Bob
Currently reading. Anyway movie's story is kind of better than the book's

Non-Fiction
1. The Structure of Scientific Revolutions by Thomas Kuhn
This book helped me to realize everything I thought about natural sciences are wrong. We are taught science is accumulating knowledge as it advances but the truth is science is anything except that. Khun nicely explain why natural sciences are not so, specially physics. If you are interested in Physics you really need to read this.
2. The Brain that Changes Itself by Norman Doidge
The only book I've read about neurology. I used to think there are various parts in our brains that are responsible for working of various parts of our bodies. This book explains why it's not 100 accurate and explains neuroplasticity from the beginning.
3. Infinity and the Mind by Rudy Rucker
This one discusses some of the best paradoxes regarding infinity and mind. Anyone who loves math can enjoy this one.
4. The Patterning Instinct by Jeremy Lent
Best history book I've ever read. Lent explains how the way people think changed from ancient civilizations to present day civilization, how language and culture affects the way we think. One of the best examples of his book is Aborgin people's spatial awareness. Their language don't have words for front, back, left, right etc and instead they use spatial directions like north, west, south etc. And as a result of this they are constantly aware of the directions.

Just found out about Michelle Diener's Class 5 series this month and I must have listened to it twice already. It's sci-fi with a little bit of intrigue, romance, and action.

If you don't mind M/M stories then here's mine:

Family of Lies: Sebastian by Sam Argent. The main reason is it's Fantasy M/M, but what really made me love the story is the sarcasm and humor, plus the personalities of characters and a sprinkle of hot scenes that doesn't dominate the whole story, it's a perfect mix for my ideal story. Although some reviews will tell you that there's too many characters and it feels like the story felt crammed, well, if you get past it, you'll probably love it too.

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera. Two words, prepare yourself. I'll say no more besides that.
