Today I had a weird problem with adobe and I'd like to ask if any user here knows ANY solution.
I contacted adobe directly but it's Christmas so it's possible they'll contact me later or even next year.
I had a message, supposedly my flash player needed update - so I checked for updates via firefox that didn't find any new version for flash player and other adobe products. So I went directly to the adobe for my country and there was a new version of flash player and acrobat reader. So I updated, it apparently worked for flash player but acrobat reader didn't want to cooperate. It offered me a version that was older than my current version. It was strange, I have every update from adobe as it's safer than downloading from other sources. So I tried the American adobe in case there is a new version but not yet with the Polish language, it was the same problem. I was to update only my version was newer than what adobe had.
So I left it like that and went to read some news. The same message appeared, my flash player was old, I needed an update. So I updated it again, 'cause maybe when acrobat didn't want to be updated, it somehow messed with the flash player. It supposedly worked but then the same message was back. So I removed the flash player completely and dl it again. It worked but again the same message. So I removed it completely and tried the full version 'cause maybe there was a problem with its slim version. The same message was back. So I removed completely it and other products by adobe, I installed them again and the same message.
At the moment I have none of the adobe products. It's kinda annoying, I can't check some promos from spoiler dot com 'cause I don't have flash player, some videos from youtube warn me I need the player (some work, some don't), had to change settings for pdf files, used to read them in adobe reader, now it's calibre - and so on. There are other pages that warn me I don't have a plugin they need.
What do I do?
I'm waiting for email from the adobe team but in the meantime I need any working solution.
Must I format my HD completely and install both systems (windows 7 and linux) with all the programs I had?
If so, my Christmas would be ruined 'cause this probably requires clean installation and using backup image wouldn't help.
In normal circumstances I can call a friendly computer sciencist that could tell me what to do but not now. He's at his parents' or in-laws. I can't contact him there.
