Is anyone else getting popups/new windows with annoying ads from these sites or is it just me? The problem lately is that the new windows that open are displaying phishing and/or distinct malware characteristics, stating that my computer is infected (I know that it is not!) and directing that I go to a particular website and/or call a number to remedy the problem.

These types of activities have only started in the last week or so. If anyone has any info, I would appreciate knowing.

Yeah, I got the same thing from the same sites. I 've just been avoiding those sites after it happened to me yesterday, i was not sure what else to do.

As long as I close the popup/new window without clicking on anything there, I seem to have no problem. Usually the third or fourth time I click on the Download button I will get the file. Annoying, but not dangerous at this point, if you are careful. It does make me wonder, however, what they will resort to next!

What browser are you using? I'm on Firefox and with the NoScript add-on so I can pick which scripts sites run, I've had no problems with either site.

I have 3 different "SystemMonitor.apk" files through userscloud. Across a week or two, while downloading unrelated files, these files are sent.

Strangely, the "this is an APK, omg warning, RUN!" prompt sometimes does not show, like it does for all other apks. Sneaky. I have these apks saved so I can debug them later to see if my paranoia is valid. :)

I am using Chrome with Android 6.0.1.

Having a big problem with most of the download sites except tiger files and upload rocket. They won't let me download unless I disable my ad blocker and when I do disable it, my antivirus software kicks in and takes me away from the sites like uploadex etc anyway. :(

Just enable ADBLOCK PLUS and add the following code to Filter;
Code: Select all@@||revclouds.com^$generichide
@@||uploads.to^$elemhide
@@||uploads.to/fuckadblock.js
and check if this is working. :)

Thank you Angelfish and CannonVol! Every time I'm forced to use usercloud or uploadex (e.g. fulfilled request) I have scanned my pc and discovered malware, however benign or malignant it may be. There are NUMEROUS other sites that don't harass people with this crap. There is no reason for posters to use these sites other than to get paid for each download. Any future requests that I make will stipulate that I will not accept links from these two sites.

Fantastic news! Can you please give us a few names, or maybe just one name? It will be wonderful to have "numerous" sites that'll offer free users what Userscloud does:

Unlimited Storage
Unlimited Downloads
Unlimited Upload
Unlimited file size
Downloads resume
No downloads delay
No downloads captcha
Fast download speeds.

We need numerous sites like this, not like Zippyshare and their 200mb file size limit or their deletion of files just 1 month after last download. Please share!

Not to mention the high uploading speed.

The subject of this thread is not about features. Never have I mentioned features, or lack thereof. The sites mentioned in the title of this thread deliver malware, however benign or malignant. I consider that harassment, at the very least. At worse, it's malicious. Some of the posters on this thread agree with this. If anyone believes this should be overlooked in favor of features - fine. I don't happen to feel that way.

Someone (not me) mentions Zippyshare. I would much rather deal with those "horrible" limitations than have my computer infected. But I guess that's a personal choice.

Yes, it is. Yours is the personal choice of someone who doesn't have to maintain links, who doesn't receive lots of PMs requesting new links because Zippyshare deleted the files. Spoken like a true downloader, not caring a bit about the ordeal uploaders go through to comply with the site rules to keep links alive.

I could have agreed with the original tirade had the filehost been really horrible, of which there are many, but Userscloud is not. Userscloud did not deserve getting defiled this way, and neither does the newly named uploads.to, formerly Uploadex.

Still waiting for "NUMEROUS other sites that don't harass people with this crap."

Uh, I guess you don't agree and you're certainly entitled to your opinion, as I am. Take a deep breath - it's just a website, not a family member or religion. It's all good.

Uh, I guess it was not so easy to come up with NUMEROUS other sites if you had to resort to patronising instead of giving names. Just what I thought.

The answer to the issue is either beef up your adblocking and malware protection,or don't download things from those sites. You have to weigh whether it's worth the risk.
