today I purchased a kindle book and I am unable to concert it using caliber it says this book is DRMed and I have done it heaps of times before, can someone recommend another app to convert it?

Do you have the de-DRM plug-in for Calibre?

If so, make sure you have the latest version - it was just updated in January. It can be found at

Thank you so much, I did install the plugin 6.3a but still it keeps on saying book is DRMED is there anything I could do? or any other app? this is very strange

If you had already imported the book into Calibre, you'll need to completely delete it and re-import it for the DRM to be removed.

If you are still having problems after that, try reading through Alf's info on his blog and post a bug report there - it's possible that Amazon's DRM has been updated and the plug-in will have to be updated as well in order to fix the issue.

lol...for future reference: you just need to delete the one book, not the whole library.
