Hi!

I'm debating requesting a book. The thing is, how do you choose how many WRZ you offer to anyone who fulfills the request? Is there some kind of guideline?

I already know this book is not very popular, but does that mean it's rare? It came out a mere couple of years ago! In paperback and ebook, too.

In addition, it's short if compared to other books. The average novel is about 400-500 pages, but this one is a little more than 200 pages. This should be taken into account, shouldn'it?

If you found the request section, there are a few stickied posts with everything explained. Quoting from this thread:
Subject: How to post a request (RULES)

  • You have to offer at least 10 WRZ$ PER BOOK as a reward to the user who fulfills your request. If your request is completed you will have to donate those 10 WRZ$ PER BOOK to the user who fulfilled your request first.
  • You may obviously offer more than 10 WRZ$ if you want the eBook you are looking for badly or urgently, and you can afford it.

Nope. Even if it is only one page. A request is a request, with the same minimum.

Why would you want to reward less, though? The sharer will have to go through the same trouble just to find the book for you. And as you stated that the book might be hard to find, that would be a good reason to donate more than the minimum.

Good luck

That's not what I meant... Of course I would offer the minimum! :D I was merely wondering if there was some kind of "custom" (not a rule per se) about pricing the requests. If, for example, requests for newly-published novels are usually rewarded 20 WRZ, comics 30 WRZ, magazines 15 WRZ and so on, or if rewards are usually proportional to the number of pages (e.g. newspaper 10 WRZ, 200-pages novel 15 WRZ, 400-pages novel 30 WRZ).

It seems there is no such custom :)

No custom in rewarding as far as I've seen.
Personally, I reward more along how hard to get a book is. If I know it is not in ebook form, and not really floating around, I might offer 500 WRZ$ for a (good to high quality) scan/pdf.

Thanks!

Fortunately, the novel I have in mind is easily available in ebook :)

Start with the minimum, you can bump a request twice so if it takes too long, up the reward in one of these bumps.
And if you need more WRZ$, the contest section is where you earn some more ;)
