Hi everyone!
I really hope it's okay to post this question here as I read through a bunch of the forums and posts but didn't see a specific area to ask this. Lately (like the last month or so) I have been having trouble loading books others post with a link to Filescdn and as of this week Solidfiles as well. When I click the links it takes me to the website but nothing on the pages works to click on. No spam or anything! I know there are certain things like "click the white download button not the green" but in these cases nothing is clickable. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could be missing?
Thanks!
Sandy

Sounds like a javascript problem, you might want to check for updates. Or you could switch browsers and see what happens, it wouldn't be the first time a browser's update stops something else from running correctly :)

Which browser do you use, and what ad blocker do you run?

I have no problem with Filescdn or Solidfiles, using Firefox as my browser. I used to use both the NoScript and uBlock Origin addons, but dropped NoScript. NoScript blocks JavaScript execution on sites not in a whitelist, but it simply became too maintenance intensive. Popular file sharing hosts source from a number of other hosts, notably ad servers, and figuring out which could be blocked and which couldn't because the site would not work if they were was simply too much trouble. uBlock Origin is a generalized blocker, whose claim to fame is that it's faster and less resource intensive than things like Ad Block Plus. (I looked at Ad Block Plus back when and passed. It uses JavaScript to actively scan for stuff to block, and I didn't like the overhead.)

It's simply not feasible to block all ads from file sharing sites, so I resign myself to some level of popups and pop unders. If I try to block all of them, I can't get the files. (I do wonder why people posting files on Mobilism use some of the file hosts they pick. Some, like Userscloud, are so ad ridden as to be almost more trouble to use than the hosted file is worth.)

One thing I would look at is whether a site used Cloudflare for DDOS protection. I've had to whitelist Cloudflare in uBlock, or site that use it simply don't work. Ultimately, if you use an ad blocker, you may need to look at what it's blocking on those sites, because something it blocks is now required for the site to work as expected.

I wonder the same thing.

Some file hosts offer you a kick back for every download of your files, so I can understand why people use them, even though they are so ad ridden you want to scream when you are trying to download a file.

I'm using Firefox and uBlock Origin, and filescdn.net gives me nothing but trouble. I don't think I've successfully downloaded anything from it recently.

Try a different browser. I've different websites interfere with each browser differently

I can't get filescdn to work either, using the premium downloader I get a port 80 error and if I right click the link to open in another tab I can get to the download page/site but when I try to download I get the unable to connect error
