My lovely lady Suzie
went for a trip to Bali
and though I know why she is gone
I hate it to be left alone...
John was upset. Not because Suzan left - he knew she had to go for a few days on a family trip - he was upset about his publisher. For months now he had delivered the manuscript of his story and still there wasn't an ebook released. Though the publisher had promised and transferred him a large amount of his rights in advance. (Which allowed him to pay for the wedding and offer Suzan the most wonderful honeymoon a woman could ever dream of...). 'Maybe' - John thought - 'I should make that ebook myself'... Nah, he wasn't a publisher. Hardly he could write down a story he nearly didn't survive. Maybe he should write another ebook, call it 'eBooks for dummies' and send it to his publisher. Hah! Maybe just spreading that news would simply do the job...
Lying on his back, staring at the ceiling while thinking all that, John's hand felt on the left side of the bed, but he only could feel some cold crackled sheet, reminding him she had already gone for hours. There also was that neat piece of lingerie she had been wearing that night. He could feel it with his fingertips. Left side of the bed is where she always sleeps. Woman use to sleep at their man's weakest side - left side - as the strongest side needs to be ready to protect them in case of an aggression... Well, that's an habit that used to be important in the old days, when people had to fight other tribes and wild animals. Lately John and Suzan weren't sure any more what side of the bed they would wake up in the morning... and if it was in the bed anyway... One night - or was it already morning? - John remembered he tryed to explain to Suzie that for the same reason it's obligate in some countries to mount the front brake lever of bicycles on the right side of the handlebar... Suzan had rolled her eyes - with such an intensity he thought they would jump out - and then she made him shut up her own way, starting another fight who would be on top... Must have been early afternoon when they woke up for the second time that day. Carefully he lifted the thin piece of lingerie and smiled while he looked at it... Had she really be wearing that last night? And where and when did she in fact take it off? Mmm... that perfume, John thought while closing his eyes... Montana or Perry Ellis... Damn! He never could remember which one is which. Whenever he bought her perfume as a present, he always bought both as he never could remember which one she prefers... He suspected her to leave this intentionally when she left early that morning, to be with him somehow when he woke up. He wouldn't be surprised should he discover in the mirror later on that she left some red marks on his neck and jaws while kissing him goodbye before rushing out...
John sighed. He missed her already. This was going to be a hard time...
