I'm not going to say sites like ours are not gong to make a financial hit on companies, it obviously will and does. The same as movies/sortware/music warez does, the extent to which the loss is is usually debateable though.

I stopped buying software (most of the time) because of the crappy support, be it for PPC or PC. If the software doesn't work, I can't get direct support (no replies or cost money to call) or get stupid support (reinstall Windows or hard reset PPC). So why bother? If the software is GOOD and have good support, I'll pay for it.

I've found that a lot of PPC software that people are asking money for aren't even worth buying. In the past I've found some of the STUPIDEST programs that people are trying to sell.

True, but we should still do our best and help the developers whenever possible.
Donating to them will only encourage them to update and/or create better programs.

PPCW supports donating to developers.

Developers would not be able to survive if not for financial support from customers. Even if you can get software for free, you should buy what you use a lot to show your support to the developer and encourage further development of software.

Well I am a developer for PalmOS and I'm pretty sure I lost a couple of sales this way. I published it myself on C4PDA as a token for all the warez, but that's still bad for small developers.
