if your on a limited bandwith package I would say no. I use Amazon's kindle

I adore my Amazon Kindle and with free Wifi it's hard to beat in my eyes

Amazon Kindle is the best, especially when you can get Kindle on your PC with all you Kindle ebooks intact.

I actually enjoy reading on the iPhone (and I own the iPad). Not bad on the eyes at all, plus it's a great form factor in public transportation when all I have is a single hand free.
