Ok. I will explain.
An ebook is something like 200kb of text plus the front cover and any internal pictures. That can, and nowadays all too often does bulk the bit count up by 10 to 50 times. No biggie for today's mass storage but it can be a real pig for bulk downloading. There are people who are taking literally months downloading my 12GB library. Even the fastest can't do it in much under a day. Bout half give up before finishing. So..it's the pictures stopping them reading the story.
Which comes to my question. How best to batch compress thousands of books? I know Calibre could do it but I would rather a utility that just shrinks the pics and leaves the text alone. Unless somebody can tell me how to get Calibre to do that?
