I have no fancy devices, just a little mp3 player that does not take long files.

Is there a software, besides Audacity, with which I can break the books into segments = to typical length of book parts on cd?

Thanks.

I have a copy of Sound Forge Audio Studio 12 by Magix and it suits me, partly because I used to use Sony Soundforge and partly because I bought it at a better price than it's advertised for now.

Techradar has a review of 'The best free audio editor 2018':

I haven't used it but you might want to check out: Free Audio Editor which is reviewed there.
