There was a book in was interested in however the download links were expired. Messaged the original uploader and requested a new link if possible.

The uploader asked for a link however I wasn't able to find the link. I sent the name of the ebook and he was able to find the link.

My question is where do I find the link to the topic or the thread? Is it under the forums, or the uploader's posts or the thread itself?

The link to the post is automatically included in your post when you hit the PM button within the thread itself.

If you are using the Classic version of Mobilism, the PM button is found in the bottom left of the post and says "PM" and if you are using Mobilism 2.0 you will find the PM button on the left under the user info and it looks like a word balloon like you would see in a comic.
