When I plug my wifes kindle into the USB port on the computer it opens the E drive for about 20 seconds then drops out , my Kindle is fine,all other USB sticks work.
Any suggestions as to the problem?

I haven't had this particular problem, but just to eliminate something I've overlooked before, have you checked your autoplay settings?

Are you using the USB cord for that Kindle device? I have an Fire HD & a 2nd gen Fire and the USB for it is different then the regular fire cord because its made to work with the fast charger. Miacane has a point as well. If its set to charge instead of read you will have that. As well, if the auto update for your plug and play doesn't automatically pick it up or its not installed for reading the Fire you will get it as well. Make sure you have turned on the screen and unlocked it before you plug it in so if its set to charge instead of read the drives you will see it and can change it.
