I use kindle for pc and Calibre did dedrm my books successfully when I needed so. I don't know a lot about computers, so, I can't tell why there is an error for you.

Double check that you have the plugin enabled, just in case.

It seems that downloading the book directly in the Kindle for PC program works best, rather than sending the book there from your Manage Your Kindle page at amazon.com.

Sometimes I get the "locked with DRM" error message and am able to delete the book from the Calibre entry (right click on the format in the list and select Remove) and drag the book again from the K4PC folder and it works the second time. Odd, but worth a shot.

I don't have kindle books, but for normal epub DRM protected files to remove the DRM, you also have to add the books to calibre after the plugin is activated. Books already in your calibre library that have DRM protection wont open elseway... you have to import them again.

the epubsoft shit is just a wrapper around the calibre plugin python script, dont waste your money.

I wouldn't know, I use epubee removal tools, which are free and work fine. So no need to pay for another one
