Can anyone recommend a good proxifier that I can use?
I need to hide my IP badly.
I had to sign a paper saying I would not Upload/Download any copyrighted material illegally,
otherwise I loose my home internet connection,
and Mediacom is the only one that has rights to highspeed internet in my neighborhood,
and I cannot afford to buy a new house just to get a different highspeed internet provider.


But I would also like to know how I could test the proxifier myself to make sure it is working
so that way I know I am truly protected and not just a placebo effect as this would really F*** up my life. I cannot go back to the stoneage era and use dial up!

I have like a hundred gigs of stuff I downloaded and converted for PPCWarez tv series/movies,
but now I cannot even upload them either,
When I get my new phone I was going to tether and use that internet connection to upload/download stuff, but I'd prefer not too,
but I really need to make sure the proxifier will work and I will really be protected.

This would help me TONS!
And like the Subject says, if you answer my questions and give me a great proxifier,

i had some threatining letters from my old isp t-mobile wnw HSDPA and i tried using just about every peice software out there mate and got more letters until i started to use hidemyass and i never got another letter it also bypassed any restrictions they imposed ie i could only upload a file in instant messenger exc couldnt upload even an image http. this could be diffrent for you id have read at what they say. anything i ever download has this oz.file (something like that) no actual filename i just need to remember to change that and the extension. this works in a similar way when you upload to rapidshare, megaupload, mediafire not tried any other file hosts. www.hidemyass.com

This is actually giving me problems now, haha
figures after I post and send reward,
but whenever I go to look at a forum that I use to get download links
it will try to download some picture file instead of opening a thread.
i don't know if that's the hidemyass.com finding the link for me and downloading it as a pic file,
but it won't even open the thread so i don't even know if the program or movie is worth downloading.
So either I'm doing something wrong,
or this is not going to work for me.

Please keep the suggestions coming!

i really cant see it as being possible to hide from an isp. your data flows through them to your ip that is giving to your modem by them so they know everything that passes through. otherwise what would be the point of an isp? youd just connect to the interent at whatever speed you wanted

well its technically not them that cares.
it's companies that are tracking me downloading their movies (fox for example) and software companies that track my ip from torrent sites and through rapidshare and all kinds of things they were saying.
but it's not technically my isp, it's those companies contacting my isp threatening to take them to court
for allowing it when it says not to download illegal copies of copyrighted stuff in their terms of service,
so my isp doesn't care about me doing as much as me getting logged or recorded doing it.
but if I have one more company contact them,
I'm screwed.
I guess I should have stated that in the beginning.

So I'm trying to hide my ip from everyone but my isp.
I thought that was what a proxifier is for.
Not sure as I use to not have to worry about it before,
but mediacom is recently getting flooded with complaints from companies about people illegally downloading their movies/software.

yep, as if isps care - the more you download, the more money they get!

i guess proper proxies work like this:
your computer -> isp -> proxy site -> internet

and all sites only see proxy site <-? interent part

although i help run an online game and i know that its possible to detect past the proxy sites a lot of the time (although i believe sites are more secure than software)

eg.
your computer -> proxy -> isp -> internet

I guess I might just have to wait till I get my TouchPro2 with Unlimited Everything plan and tether to upload/download.


It'll be slower but with Rev A it's gotta be faster than if I were to loose my mediacom connection and have to get dial up.


Hopefully verizon won't care about me downloading music/movies/software,
I still have like 350+ gigs on my harddrive to fill, and I want more music damn!t!

anonymizer is the best software product (PAID) but it has a yearly subscription of $29.99
stick with TOR its the Best AFAIK been using it for years (but its a bit slow as traffic is routed through many servers before it comes on yours if you live in USA or whereabouts no problem about Speed)

Thanks, when I get some time I'll be checking these out,
but for the time being I've just been downloading from rapidshare or meguupload only,
and have stopped with torrents.
I haven't had any problems......yet.

Thepiratebay will be opening a proxy service, you might want to look into that once its open. Its in the beta stages at the moment.
