Hi. I just want to rant about how hard accountancy is. It's killing me. My quizzes are &@*%! I'm on my third year already buuuut, i don't know.. It's just not for me, I guess. I keep imagining myself in the future and I just can't see myself being an accountant.

Hang in there - it will be worth it in the end. I felt the same way and nearly gave up in my last year but I'm truly glad I didn't.

I got a job and have never been out of work and have liked every company I worked for as I have learnt something new and challenging in each one.......I didn't use all the stuff I learnt in University BUT its the underlying lessons you learn that you will use eg how to do research, think, present, negotiate, etc that you use in your career.

Good luck!

I first graduated with a BSc. (Microbiology/Chemistry). A few years later studied for a B.Admin (part-time, married, working) with emphasis on accounting courses. Actually pretty easy if you have an analytical science mind....breezed thru. Realized didn't really want to be a bean-counter. Studied for a MBA in marketing. Short story, retired now but I had worked up to be Senior VP Sales & Marketing of a major corporation (Top 50) and never looked back. Even though I never really used the science degree, the overall knowledge was invaluable to develop an analytical, logical train of thought. As far as the accounting courses, never really did hard accounting (mostly computerized these days anyhow) but it did come in use when developing sales forecasting models and reading reports on P&L that the accounting department would produce. Retired at the age of 55.
