A WORLD OF MOTIVATION
Even though he has not reached Muller yet, considering the German's goals in the Fairs Cup, Inzaghi doesn't stop: 'I'll look at the statistics when I quit playing, today I think about winning. And I dream of the Club World Cup.'
MILAN - During an episode of 'Studio Milan' on Milan Channel, Pippo Inzaghi talked about himself and Milan, talking about the current situation and on the next objectives. Here is what he said:
'I feel well, I'm training without problems and this is very positive. When a player is in form, things go well more easily, being in form pays, I say that independently of the goals, which for a striker don't always come regularly.'
'This week we've worked very well, it's been intense but also fun. We found a way to enjoy ourselves during trainings, with a series of Italy-Brazil match-ups. Even being with just 10 players, we were able to train seriously and with a smile on our faces. I think this is one of the secrets of Milan: the unity is very important in a group. I'm sure the matches we played during training will be useful ahead of the tour de force which awaits us from Sunday with many important matches.'
European goals: for Uefa, who don't include Muller's goals in the Fairs Cup, Inzaghi has already reached the German: 'Regarding the goals there should be a bit more clarity: it would be better to understand, obviously scoring one goal to surpass him or seven to reach him isn't the same thing, but in any case I don't think too much about it, I try to look ahead. In any case I don't lack the motivation.
The goalscoring record is something I care about, but as I've always said, it's Milan's victories and the nights like the one in Manchester and Athens that I will never forget. These are the truly important things. Perhaps one day when someone will try to beat my record I will look at the statistics. But for now I have other things to think about.'
'Me to Beijing for the Olympics? I would be ready and available. I would gladly go, but Beijing is far away, I don't think about it. I've heard people talk well about the Olympics, it's a competition I've never participated to. We'll see, but this is not the moment to think about it, it would be hard to say no though.'
'Ronaldo? He is well, for now he's been just training but he's resolved his problems, let's hope he can help us on the pitch. Players who help us win are always well accepted. Ronie had some problems, but now he's past it. All he needs to do is play. Soon Ancelotti will have an embarassment of riches. We have many players and many matches to play: there will be space for everyone.
With his return, let's see what the coach does, what system he choses to play with. Our asset is that we know how to adapt to various different schedules. Last year we played many good games in the league with two strikers; with one we won the Champions League. It won't be a problem.'
'Will I go to the Euros? There's time to think about it: I played the qualifiers and was happy to do so. Going to the national team is always a pleasure. I'll try to do well with Milan, then if they need me I'm there, as always.'
