ROYAL PARK HOTEL: THE POINT

YOKOHAMA - Adriano Galliani and Jean Pierre Meersseman went for a walk of an hour this morning at 10.30am, through streets of the Minato Mirai zone at Yokohama. Sensations on Kaka: he is doing better than yesterday, he doesn't limp any more and today he should train. Pirlo and Inzaghi: all ok, even though Andrea is still feeling a slight pain in his stomach which, however, will not stop him from playing in the Final of Yokohama.

ONLY 90 MINUTES

Clarence Seedorf has clear ideas for tomorrow's game: Milan will have to conquer the top of the world inside the 90 minutes against Boca Juniors and not beyond.

- WORDS OF CLARENCE -

YOKOHAMA - Clarence Seedorf spoke to Milan Channel's microphones about the hospitality the team received at the Yokohama Marinos sporting center, but particularly sent a clear and strong message regarding tomorrow's game:

"Today is the last day we're spending here at the "Marinos" sporting center, I have to say that everything was great and the people received us with a lot of affection, making us feel as if we were at Milanello. We've done everything very well until now, the work has been productive and we have to stay calm.
Tomorrow's game will be a great clash, there's every reason to call it the derby of the world. We'll have to give it our all to resolve this match in our favor within the 90 minutes, because we don't want it to go to extra time. The ball? For various technical reasons we still have to get used to certain trajectories, but generally we are able to kick it well."

Gattuso out for revenge

As tough and uncompromising on the field as he is shy and retiring off it, Gennaro Ivan Gattuso is not one to leave unfinished business. The AC Milan midfielder is fully focused on winning the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2007, and he took time out from his preparation to talk to FIFA.com.

"I'm satisfied with the way we started off the tournament," he said in an exclusive interview. "We knew that the semi-final would be very difficult, and that certainly proved to be the case, no doubt about it. We didn't know much about Urawa, and it was one of those matches where you really have to be focused. There are no easy games any more in today's football."

The Japanese side played a very compact, defensive formation which made the role of Milan's holding midfielders all the more pivotal. Andrea Pirlo, Massimo Ambrosini and Gattuso had very few of their usual defensive duties to fulfil and spent most of their time feeding Kaka, Clarence Seedorf and Alberto Gilardino.

The toughest part of such a match is often dealing with counter-attacks, and Rino and his team-mates made sure they were up to the task. "We missed so many chances that we ended up piling the pressure on ourselves. That's why we had to keep concentrating right up to the final whistle. We were glad when we finally made the breakthrough. Clarence's goal came as a great relief."

The only trophy missing from a packed cabinet
Gattuso was a great admirer of the great Gianni Rivera. "My father bleeds red and black just like me and I have enormous respect for skilful players. They're a pleasure to watch." Rino, on the other hand, is more of a combative team player, as his nicknames would suggest...

In Italy they call him Ringhio, the bulldog, while during his time at Rangers from 1997-1999, he earned the typically Scottish sobriquet Braveheart.

Gattuso has been a pivotal player at AC Milan for almost a decade now, and the lad from down south (Corigliano Schiavonea in Calabria) has won almost everything with the club from the north: the Italian Cup (2003), the Scudetto (2004), two UEFA Champions Leagues in 2003 and 2007, and the UEFA Super Cups in the same years. The only trophy missing from his haul is the FIFA Club World Cup, and as a member of the Milan team which lost to Boca Juniors in the Toyota Cup in 2003 (3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw), Gattuso is out for revenge.

"Playing in a final is one thing, but we've promised ourselves that we're not going home without the trophy. The memories of our last match against them are still very much there for most of us, so we want to rewrite the history books and set the record straight."

No less than 12 of the Milan squad were among those who slipped to defeat in 2003, so Boca will be well aware that the rematch promises to be a blood and thunder affair...

Morel ready for final push

During the course of their 102-year history Boca Juniors have forged a reputation for passion, determination and an unquenchable desire for success. As you might expect for such an ambitious club, most of players who have pulled on the blue and gold jersey over the years have embodied these exact qualities. Among the current crop of natural born winners is the versatile Paraguayan Claudio Morel Rodriguez, who arrived at the club in mid-2004 and has gone on to become a firm favourite with the demanding Xeneizefans.

Just hours before the final with AC Milan in Yokohama, the 29-year-old shared his thoughts with FIFA.com and spoke about his special relationship with the Bombonera faithful, the secret to stopping Kaka and his dream of winning of the trophy with one of his trademark free-kicks.

"Nothing compares to this," says Morel when asked about the importance of Sunday's showdown. "The Club World Cup is much more important than anything we've won so far. It's a special tournament and I just hope we can win on Sunday and take the trophy back to Argentina."

As far as the defender is concerned, the fact that the mighty Milan are standing in Boca's way only adds to the prestige of the occasion. "There's nothing like taking on a big side, one of the best clubs in the world with all their stars. If we win, we'll be the best team on the planet. You can't ask for any more than that."

OperationKaka
Boca's hopes of landing the trophy clearly hinge on their ability to blunt the threat posed by Kaka, who once again showed his qualities in Milan's win over Urawa Red Diamonds. And to do that they will need Morel to be at his very best.

"With his ability to find space, Kaka can really hurt you. That's why we really need to get on top of him and stop him playing. Players like him don't like that," explains Morel, who admits to being a little disappointed with the Italians in their opening game. "I expected a lot more from them. I really hope they come out and play an open game on Sunday. They're a great team, they know how to keep their cool and they control possession well. We're capable of winning this tournament, though, and we're in the final for a reason."

The Paraguayan, a self-confessed admirer of Roberto Carlos and Oscar Ruggeri, is more than just a destroyer, however, and his dead-ball abilities add an important dimension to Boca's attacking play. "It would be wonderful to score the goal that wins the Club World Cup, but I have to be realistic. As long as we win, I don't care who scores the goal."

A winning goal on Sunday would assure the player idol status at a club with more than its fair share of heroes, not that the modest Morel is out to make a name for himself. "I feel loved by the fans but I'm not an idol. That's a very strong word. I think people like me because I'm the type of player who gives everything out on the pitch and I never let my head drop, even when things aren't going well."

It is that never-say-die attitude that the Argentinians will need if they are to overcome Milan and make Morel's biggest dream a reality. "I want nothing more than to win and take the cup back to my wife and my children Axel and Eliel. I miss them a lot, but the sacrifice is worth it."
