ARSENAL: MORE PROBLEMS FOR VAN PERSIE

MILAN - Robin Van Persie, the Dutch talent of the London club who will face Milan in the Champions League in February, returns to his home country to recover. Because of various injuries, Van Persie has played just eight matches in the Premier League this season. Recently he tried to play against Tottenham in the Carling Cup, but perhaps, as Arsène Wenger himself admitted, it was not a good idea

A VICTORY FOR THE FUTURE

'We showed character and unity. Everyone wanted to win and make sacrifices. It was a direct encounter, winning it is important for the future. Well done Gila!'

- THE WORDS OF ANCELOTTI -

UDINE - Here are the comments of Carlo Ancelotti after Udinese-Milan 0-1:

'Today's match was great to watch. Udinese are a lively team who are good at the counterattack, they showed they deserve to be where they are. We played well at some points, and not so well at others, but in the end we take home three very important points.'

'We showed character, and compactness. There was a great will to win by everybody and also a lot of sacrifice from all the players, including Kaká.
This was a direct encounter, having won it is very important for the future. But we still have a lot of steps to make.'

'Concerning the goal, I think it's regular because the hand is out but it can't touch the ball. The rule is this: even if the hand is further out, it doesn't matter, what counts is the part of the body.'

'That aside, I give Gila my compliments. We restart with this great return of his. He scored a decisive goal in a crucial match. He was never put aside, but certainly now he has more competition. He seized the moment, he was decisive, he showed character as well. This goal will give him confidence and help him face the competition better. It's the quality of important matches that counts, not the quantity. He took the arrival of Pato and Ronaldo's return well. He'll have his space. The choices are up to the coach. The idea to put him in eight minutes from the end was because we were playing the long ball, for that type of game he is more appropriate than Ronaldo. Also the move was very nice and they all did well.'

'Now we go to Bergamo, on Wednesday night, against Atalanta. It will be a delicate match. We are doing well away from home. It will be a different game from today, we want to win. Go Milan!!!'.
