MARCO ROSSI: 'Facing the world champions has a certain affect'

GENOA - Two days from Milan-Genoa, Marco Rossi commented this way the game against the Rossoneri: "In the first leg it was a particular game. We paid for the debut against an in-form team, made of fantastic champions who a few days later defeated Sevilla with three goals in the Super Cup. It was a nice gesture the applause which in the end the Milan players gave to the Ferraris. On Sunday it will be tough again, but the ball is round. Facing the world champions? Well, it creates a certain affect, but personally I'm not thinking about it.

ON THE PITCH TO WIN!
Kaladze answered questions during today’s press conference at Milanello. He spoke about the game against Genoa, Pato and admitted his responsibilities on the goal suffered against Atalanta.

- KALADZE’S PRESS CONFERENCE -

MILANELLO – These are the declarations of Kakha Kaladze during the press conference which was held today at Milanello:

On Wednesday night at Bergamo, you lost three important points to climb back up the standings.
“Unfortunately yes, on the goal we suffered I made the mistake and I take full responsibility for it. It happens to everyone to make mistakes, it’s human and I prefer to make this mistake against Atalanta rather than in a game against Arsenal or in a final of the Champions League, even though it was important to take back home the three points. I take full responsibility for this.”

What do you think about the new tactical setup?
“These are not decisions I take, but the coach does. He’s the one who establishes how we have to play and all of us players must be completely available for the coach who decides that tactic according to the needs of the team.”

Do you feel on you the pressure of having to avoid making any mistakes?
“When you play in a team like Milan, there is no pressure, but it is a responsibility because right now we all want to reach the fourth place objective in the league to have the possibility to take part in the Champions League next year. We lost against Atalanta, but I don’t find it such a bad thing because luckily we still have many games to make up for it. Right now we have more solutions upfront and we attack more. I don’t think that there are big problems in defence. For example in the game against Napoli, we suffered the first goal on a counter attack and the second one from a penalty. We can surely improve and try not to concede more goals.”

On Sunday you will face Genoa, the team of your friend Borriello.
“Sunday’s game against Genoa will surely be a different game than the one of the first round. It will not be easy at all. We shall go on the pitch to play a great game and win. Borriello is playing well, scoring a lot and I’m very happy for him."

What do you think about Inter?
“It’s a team which is doing well, obtaining many points and I don't think that the referee decisions have influenced this. Some errors can happen, like it happened to Milan, but I don't think that Inter are favoured by the referees, because they proved this year to be a strong team.”

Pato?
“He’s a ‘kid’, he’s only 18-years-old and is playing very well. It's been a long time since he went on the pitch before the Napoli game, and it’s normal that he must get used to the rhythms of a team which plays every three days. I believe that we must be lighter with him, it can happen that he makes a mistake in front of goal, but he is still very good. I was in fact surprised that he did not score, but that happens. There are games in which a player plays better and in others in which he plays worse and when you play in a strong team Milan you get a lot of external pressure. For the time being he played just three games and started out well."

At the end of this season, maybe many defenders will leave. Which defender might arrive at Milan?
“There are few strong defenders of the highest level in the world and these play in teams like Real Madrid, Manchester, Inter and it’s not easy that one of them joins us because I don’t believe that these teams will let them go easily. However, the club decides about the transfer market."

Yesterday you met Van Basten.
“It’s always a pleasure to see a player who did a lot for Milan and for the world football. I’m just sorry that he had to stop playing at the age of 28 years. He did a lot for this club, he was great, both technically and physically, and I remember that when I was ten years old I used to always follow him.”

Dida?
“He’s better, he suffered a small injury, but now he’s recovering and he will soon return to train with the team.”

Which defensive duo can be compared to you and Nesta?
"There are some really strong players like Cannavaro of Real Madrid, Terry of Chelsea, but I wouldn’t know inside other teams how they got used to each other the players. What I can say is that I find myself really well with Nesta.”

GENOA: GASPERINI'S DECLARATIONS

MILAN - These are the declarations of the Genoa coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, during today's press conference, ahead of Sunday's game against Milan: "Recently I saw Milan suffer a bit. I watched the games against Napoli, Udinese and also the first half against Atalanta, and they left me with a good impression. They play quick football, in short spaces even when the opponents have ten men defending, behind the line of the ball. Differnetly from the first round, they have added Ronaldo and Pato...and forgive me if that's not much."

GENOA: FABIANO SPEAKS, FORMER TEAM-MATE OF RICARDO KAKA'

MILAN - The official website of Genoa, genoafc.it, published today the declarations of the Brazilian midfielder Lima Rodrigues Fabiano: "With Kaka I played at Sao Paolo. He's a world class player and a nice person. It's not like stopping him, we stop Milan. We shall face the game openly and, with some small adjustments, we shall not change our characteristics and mentality. It's not in Milan that we must win survival points.
