There's only the Chevron method that I am aware of.. if you're still not on Nodo. Then you can unlock, prevent relock and update to Nodo.

Otherwise if you purchased a device with Nodo preinstalled..then at the moment you are out of luck. Unless you can find a preNodo Rom floating around and install that, then unlock, then update.

What device are you using?

Edit: There is a new thread at XDA..looks like a bunch of guys are attempting to start work on a new "Chevron" method for post Nodo phones.

With nodo, you can ask someone with a developer account to unlock your phone via remote desktop. Then you add the re-lock prevention and you can clean the developer account.

Cracking stuff just for the fun of the challenge :)

Do you have the link of the new thread at XDA where they are attempting to start work on a new "Chevron" method for post Nodo phones ?

I wasn't aware of this method. I know alternatively for students, you could register for free at dreamspark and have your phone unlocked. Not sure if this is still being done though. It's a tedious process creating a fake app and submitting it but if you really needed to have it, you could go about it that way. There is more info here and here.

Yes but Dreamspark's account requires a dummy app submitted to the marketplace in order to work. But it is similar to the paid account (but with few additional restrictions)

What is this re-lock prevention and where to find it, please?

The one I am aware of is through a registry entry that you edit. Here is a link over at XDA that has the list of tweaks you can implement via registry editing.
I am not sure if this is the method avatar_e was refering to or if he knew of another way.

thanks stillriza, luckily I don't have NoDo, but each time I connect my trophy to PC, Zune is locking me again.

Edit:
For now, I have put "#" in front of everything starting with developers in my host file and set it
to read only, and so far all is good, phone is still unlocked.

Noob to wp7 just got my phone yesterday... Whats the downside of jailbreaking? ie will i still be able to update/access market ect?

There is no downside. You dont get blocked from the market or anything like that. And you still get all updates as regular. Unlocking simply gives you the ability to side load any apps you want.

I think I made a big mistake when I bought my new HTC HD. I can do nothing with this device.
You can not even get your favorite ringtone. And now I can not jailbreak this device to get it customized.
When I tried to jailbreak with chevron, I always get this
"Sorry, I´m having trouble communicating with the phone
-Please make sure it´s connected using USB
-Please start the Zune application
Can some PLEASE advice what to do to unlock this phone. It's HTC HD7 T9295.
Thanks a lot
Mazen
