Anything that is 7.0.7390.0 and above is Nodo which can't be jail broken at this time unless you unlock using a developer acct or a legit method.

Only other option would be.. if you updated the phone yourself, as apposed to purchasing the phone with Nodo pre-installed, you may be able to roll back to the previous OS version using Zune...then chevron-unlock the device, prevent relock, then update to nodo. That way you have Nodo and a device that is unlocked.

Otherwise if you purchased a device with Nodo preinstalled..then at the moment you are out of luck. Unless you can find a preNodo Rom floating around and install that, then unlock, then update.

What device are you using?

Edit: There is a new thread at XDA..looks like a bunch of guys are attempting to start work on a new "Chevron" method for post Nodo phones.

With nodo, you can ask someone with a developer account to unlock your phone via remote desktop. Then you add the re-lock prevention and you can clean the developer account.

Is there anyone of the developers that would make this option open to us for a fee? Sounds like a good business to be in. I would expect that unlocking this way would not keep you from getting new updates; i.e. Mango?

Would be great business if there was no limit on the developer unlock..Sadly, MS has the limit set at..I believe.. 3 different phones per Dev account. Each device is registered somehow to the dev account..not sure exactly (maybe a dev can chime in)

So, If I were a Dev.. I could unlock my 1st phone and have 2 phones left I could unlock. So...lets say I were to upgrade or purchase another device..I'd want to unlock that one too...leaving me with 1 last phone to unlock. And considering dev accounts are what...$99 to get, it's a pricey business.

Thanks for the headsup. I think the total that a developer can unlock is 10 but even that amount might not be worthwhile to do someone elses phone.

The good news is that you are running pre-Nodo which means you should be able tu unlock without any problems. If you're phone can't be scene it means that somewhere the connection isn't right. Are you able to get Zune working? (i.e can you sync files through zune when ur phone is connected?)

If so, then it should really be as simple as following the steps below..
1. Install Windows Phone 7 Developer tools. This will require a reboot at the end.
2. Email the "ChevronWP7.cer" file to your Windows Phone 7 device.
3. Open the email, tap on the attachment to download it. The icon will turn into a shield, tap again to get a new dialog. Press "Install" then OK.
4. Put your WP7 Phone into airplane mode (Settings>Airplane mode>Slide the toggle to ON)
5. Double click the ChevronWP7.reg file on your computer. A prompt will open up asking if you want to write this to your registry. Press Yes to continue, then OK at the end.
6. Open TCPView. (tcpview.exe inside of the downloaded archive) Click on the heading marked "Local Port" until the arrow next to it is pointing up.
7. Look on the Local Port column for any entries labeled "HTTPS". These programs MUST be closed for Chevron to work properly. Common culprits are Skype, and XAMPP. Use Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+Delete) to ensure they are closed if you run into issues.
8. Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable. Open the Zune software if it is not already open, and wait for it to finish syncing.
9. Open your Zune software and go to the Phone page, and make SURE you don't see anything that denotes that you are in a "Guest Sync" relationship with the device. It needs to be the primary computer the phone is synced with.
10. Unlock your phone and leave it at the home screen. Make sure the phone does not go to sleep after this.
11. Open ChevronWP7.exe. It should be running as administrator. Check both boxes, and press Unlock.

More detailed instructions can be found here & here on XDA. Make sure you prevent unlock before applying Nodo are you are screwed until a 2nd jailbreak is made available.

Nope, jailbreak will only allow you to sideload. That's the first I have ever heard of HD7, or any WP7 phone running slow considering the hardware is all the same. All the windows phones run the same and are very fluid. That is like saying you and your ex both bought Iphones but hers runs slow.

I would venture and say something wrong with the device and return it or exchange or warranty.

Yep. I had both Iphone4 and WP7 but decided to keep the WP7 because of how smooth & crisp the user feel was...not to take anything away from the Iphone. As a jailbreak community, if you will, started to grow for WP7 I returned the Iphone and bought an ipod instead.

That's the only thing I wish the Samsung Focus had ..was excellent audio capabilites like the ipod does.

Couple developer facts... There are 2 legitimate ways to unlock your phone. You can pay $99 or it's free if your a student. You can have a total of 3 devices registered; you register your device with a tool that comes with the SDK that registers your phone on the developer site. The 10 limit your thinking of is how many xap you can have on your phone at a time, for students its 3. You can remove the limits by editing the registry.

If you are stuck and can't roll back to an earlier version that can be unlocked through Chevron... hope is not lost. You can flash your phone, not reset, to factory form which can then be unlocked. To flash your phone head to the XDA forums and find your devices rom, instructions should be in the thread or come in the download. Then downside to this is you lose your settings and apps. Just make sure everything is linked to your live ID... and any apps or games your purchased will be linked to your account.
