Although there are lots of other ebook sites out there I often find success by simply using Google.
Just search the author/title, using "" quote marks if necessary and add "+epub" and it's surprising what comes up. Sometimes it is also necessary to add "+filesonic" or any other main storage site (the "+" is a trick to oblige google to include that word or phrase).
OK you always get stores in the results but...you also come across all sorts of warez and blog/site results that contain links. After a time you quickly learn to ignore the $$ sellers and can easily spot the free download sites. Use it on google Blogsearch too!

Google works pretty good if you just add epub after the title and author of the eBook. Also http://mobibookz.co.cc is one of the best sites. All the eBooks are retail copies or so close that you can not tell.
When all else fails, I use the "+" option on google, but if I can't find it here I try filestube.com or uvrx.com or those two usually cover most of the file storage sites, including this one. Also, mobiles24.com has a limited amount of ebooks and a request forum.
