I don't know how filesonic became the bete noire, either people like it or they loathe it.
I should point out that filesonic is not the only site offering incentives to uploaders - wupload, duckload, fileserve, hotfile, megaupload ad nauseam all do it.
As to mediafire, the popups on that site are notorious for loading nasties on your computer. I didn't realize filesonic was doing the same thing.
Long before filesonic came along, people were using MU FS etc and not a peep was said about earning money off it.
Take a look at what's being offered on filesonic before you stamp your foot - it's generally the up-to-date ebook offerings that people want.
If anything, this site should mandate one site as a mirror - e.g., ifile. ifile has a no bs download system, no nasties, no incentives. A captcha comes into place after 3 downloads, but it's always easy to use.
An uploader can use whatever site he wants as a primary download, but the mirror would be a site everyone can easily access.
And I should say, if filesonic is banned, just how fast do you think up-to-the-minute releases will be posted in here - because the people using filesonic as their host will just go somewhere else.
