Well, I have used Mediafire and Megaupload exclusively since I started posting releases here. I use Mediafire as my primary link and Megaupload as the secondary. (I'm not really too fond of the Megaupload, but want to be able to load backups for Mediafire)
Mediafire is blazing fast, free, has no ads, no download limit, no real wait times, no "security" questions, no ads, no BS. I love it. Try downloading ANY of my releases (you can always delete it later if it isn't something you want) and you will see what I mean. Just click on the link, wait a second or two for it to setup the download, click again, and the file is on the way!
Megaupload is not so great, but it seems to be the lesser of the other evils, so it's my backup. It DOES have a short wait time and some ads, but no Hourly limits and no overall limit.

It would be one thing if I were paying for the book, but I'm not. If a poster wants to put a few extra formats in there to pad their file size, go for it.
Right. YOU don't have a problem with all the 'extra' formats, due to YOUR ISP, but a great many here do. And not all of them are downloading to their computers either (as PHEX stated previously). The problem here isn't because of the size of the file on their computer or other device. It's because of the size of the download and the time and effort required to get it TO their computer or phone or other device.
Think of it like this: you go to the store to buy your favorite magazine. It's not a problem to get a copy of your favorite magazine, BUT, the only way they will let you have it is if you also take a copy of EVERY other magazine they have available too! Whether you like, want, need those magazines too!
A bit dramatic and over the top, but the analogy fits.
