This will probably sound dumb, but I don't know how to start a post for ebook upload, in the novel section I can't find any 'new thread/topic' buttons, can anyone help as I'd like to share

From what you describe, you have been going here:

Board index » Device-independent » eBooks » eBook Releases by Category » Novels

When you need to go here:

Board index » Device-independent » eBooks » eBook Releases

There is a button at the top left labelled "NewTopic."

You might want to check out the sticky at the top here first for tips.

Every new release goes through the 'eBook Releases' section first. (Think of it as a screening process) Then when/if all is in order, a Mod will reward you and copy/move it to the appropriate section

I can't tell until I know what you've tried, but, you have to put ALL of the image code where it says this in the template - Uploaded Image Code goes here - INCLUDING the codes themselves. (All attempts to show coding here has an extra space added after the 'g' to actually SHOW the coding)

An example: Putting this where the image code goes, produces no resulting pic.

http://images.mobilism.org/?dm=9SC7

BUT, the same thing WITH the proper coding in place,

http://images.mobilism.org/?dm=9SC7 (remember spaces added to show code - do NOT put them in your actual image code)

Will result in this:

Image

OK, just found this: Subject: Voodoo Moon Trilogy by Cheri Scotch

And now I see the problem. ALL pics to be used here for posting MUST be posted to the in-house pic site - http://images.mobilism.org/ - and the links from THAT site get posted in your thread.

More detail on posting here - including about pics - can be found in the sticky found here: viewtopic.php?f=1147&t=225231

This is a great place to begin when it comes to posting here. It is full of tips on things to do and not to do, found out the hard way - by ME.

There is also a thread in the book releases section on how to post that has a template showing what your post SHOULD look like before it gets posted. That template is what I use to make sure my releases are done up correctly before I post them.

And just a tip, but try using the BOLD code instead of the UNDERLINE code for things like book titles.

Quick question... Am I allowed to bump up a request that is not my own?
I looked around to see if this is a repeat question or was covered somewhere on the site but did not find anything. I apologize if it was.

Thank you in advance.

You mean a request in the 'book request' section? As far as I know, it's not a problem (Of course, I could be wrong).

Usually, if the request is something I would like, or think I would like, too, I offer to add to the stated reward. This is not a policy or rule. Just something I do. You don't have to do the same.

I do usually say something like, "I would like to read this one too," instead of just saying "bump."

I need some help with my posts, there a part that's confusing me, I'm grateful to the patience of the mods, but I think I'm wearing that out, can some explain what I'm supposed to do for: "Image, then [break] command"
Am I supposed to just type in "[break]" after the image? Is it a button I'm supposed to press? Or something completly different?

OK, Honestly, the first and best thing you can do is read these two threads before doing anything else.

READ BEFORE POSTING: How to post a release

BEFORE you post a book release!

The first one is the official thread on how to post a release. There is a very good example template that you can copy and paste into a text file (don't forget to save the text file afterwards). Then, when you are setting up your posts, just open a copy of the text file and fill in the information needed.

The second thread is full of tips and how-tos I have learned from making the mistakes described in it.

Between these two threads, you should be able to come up with a perfect (or near perfect anyway) release.

Yes womble, you need to type or copy/paste the break command, as you indicated, immediately below the image.
This command is important because the Releases page only shows the post up to this point.

(Important Note: All the coding in brackets in this example have an asterick * added to them, like this [*b]. To actually USE this, cut and paste into a text file and remove the astericks first, like this [b] ) Those are just there to show how the HTML code LOOKS in the example! DELETE THEM FROM YOUR ACTUAL TEMPLATE.
Here is what the template looks like:

Title by Author + (.format/s) + *ADULT* (if needed)

[*b]Title by Author here[*/b]
[*u]Requirements:[*/u] Type of viewer, size in Kb or Mb, - [b*][*color=#FF4040]18 years+[/color*][/b*] (if needed)
[u*]Overview:[/u*] Short description of book or story.
[img*]Uploaded Image Code goes here[/img*]
[break*]
*************************************************************************************
(Images with pornographic content have to be linked to, not embedded - like this: )

[*url=http://images.mobilism.org/?dm=XXXX][b*]Preview[/b8][/url*] // [*url=Uploaded Image Code goes here][b*]Preview[*/b][*/url] (Make sure to delete the [*img][*/img] from the image code before posting)
[*break]
*************************************************************************************

Anything in BLUE is only used if your release is an adult release. If it is not an adult release, then simply delete those portions of the template.

Thank you, that's clearer, I'll copy that to my template, (I need a dumbies guide) can I try that in this section for practice without upsetting the mods? I'm on my final warning - all further posts will go to the recycle bin rather than be edited now,
