Which asterisks? The ones in the template example? Those are just there to show how the HTML code LOOKS in the example! DELETE THEM FROM YOUR ACTUAL TEMPLATE.

They are just there to show how the HTML codes. If I tried to show the coding in the template without them, you would not be able to see the coding.

If your release is NOT an adult release, DELETE the two lines of asterisks and everything in between them. If it IS an adult release, DELETE the two lines of asterisks, but use the info in between them INSTEAD of the regular IMG code.

Right got it, I swear I'm going to get it right before it kills me (or Merry does)!

Surprise - having another issue! How do I add the thumbs up symbol to my post still can't find it, or is it done as it's released? I think it's a good system and I plan to use it (if I can find it?!)

Your question was answered by XVI here: viewtopic.php?f=1147&t=239615&p=879528#p879528

But anyway: you don't add it, the system does when the post is categorized. Users thank you by clicking on it and every time someone does you get 1 WRZ$ added to your personal fortune from the site's private bank ... but not from the user's own pocket, as some seem to think! ;-)

Would that be 'maniacal'?! At least it's a good song to keep hearing! Can someone explain about adding a link from a previous release to your post? I've got a series I've nearly finished putting together but only one of the books has been previously released?

You mean something like, "Check out my tips post HERE?"

Here you go: [url=X][*b]XX[/b*][*/url]

Easiest way to do this is replace the single 'X' with the URL of the post where the previously released book(s) are located, replace the double 'XX' with whatever you want to say. (Book Title, HERE, Check this out)

Here is the above link broken to show the code.

You mean something like, "Check out my tips post [*url=http://forum.mobilism.org/viewtopic.php?f=1147&t=225231][*b]HERE[/b*][/url*]?"

(Don't you start on me again about those asterisks! :D ) Just ignore the asterisks they do not belong there. They are just helping to show what this actually looks like.

OR

You can just copy-and-paste the URL for the post that has the previously released books and put it in the release.

For example, the url for this page (top of your screen) is: viewtopic.php?f=1147&t=235024&start=15

Thanks, I want to link to a previous book release when I post my release, I'll give it a try and see if I get it (check this space for any and all ways I can get this wrong!), I can't ignore your asterisks their just too damn captivating

IF I can help decipher it or anything, just PM me.

While I am NOT the 'see all - know-all' type, that goes for anyone who has a question or needs help too. Most of the stuff I 'know' about how to do things here, has been learned through 'trial and error' (MINE :D ), and if I can help someone avoid making those same mistakes, I am more than willing to do so.

Thanks bohica60, I tried it and 'got it' it worked! it's great your willing to spend time trying to explain the mysteries of forum world, you should see the trouble the "[b]" thingies gave me I drove Merry nuts with that one  , and just when she thought she could relax, the issue "[b]" thingies were back
LOL this was fun to read. Poor Womble, it does take some getting used to. No wirries though, hope that post went okay. ^_^

When I look over some of the stuff that gave me problems and see the results it does make me chuckles, some of it's too ridiculous
