Oh dear me!
May I suggest that you read the original story then read the question.
I wonder what would have happened if I had asked you a question on semantic symbolism? :lol:
But if you want something really really easy to divert you whilst you are thinking of this one then:
What is the strong ligament running from the skull of a sheep down the spinal column that is the major feature of a famous old children's song?

The ligamentum nuchae is a very strong elastic ligament in the dorsal midline of the neck, and it relieves the animal of the weight of its head. Were it not for the ligamentum nuchae, the head of the standing animal would droop between its forelimbs.

that is the major feature of a famous old children's song?

No idea which song! Unless it is.........Oh damn! Who am I fooling?

What links/connects the fish avatar I use with one of the greatest of the guardians ?

Hake = Merluccius merluccius

Merlin = Myrddin

“Light of the Sea,” = the summer solstice
"The Light of the Sea" = Autumn Equinox (I suppose it depends where you live.)

Links? Who knows. Also, how come Roman inventions got dragged into this? Or, whatever the clue above the alert?

All misinformation and a concerted effort to drive me crazy due to sleepless nights and frantic running around in ever tightening circles!

Don't sweat it beukies, I've got the answer! :D

It is, Ta Da, the Lady of the Lake (of Arthurian legend)! 8)

She's the guardian of the sword Excalibur,
she's associated with water,
she's connected with the calendar of Arthurian events,
Merlin is described by some as a Druid,
and she probably eats Hake on Fridays nowadays, if she still exists, after possibly converting to Catholicism.

perhaps you would all have been better employed by considering why I wrote QED

now I must meditate on the futurity of futilism

To my fellow members of the Circle of the Dunces:

Q.E.D. is an initialism of the Latin phrase "quod erat demonstrandum". The phrase is traditionally placed in its abbreviated form at the end of a mathematical proof or philosophical argument when what was specified in the enunciation — and in the setting-out — has been exactly restated as the conclusion of the demonstration. The abbreviation thus signals the completion of the proof.
