At this point in time, ebook moderators are NOT responsible for CENSORSHIP on this forum and I sincerely hope they will never be responsible for such.
Classification of magazines, images and movies as pornographic or not are based on generally accepted society standards and being visual can pretty easily be identified.
Classification of the WRITTEN word is far more difficult and subjective; some of you may even remember Lady Chatterley's Lover or the Tropic of Cancer and the noise surrounding them in their day. What may be erotic to one may be simple soap box opera to another and who is to say which is right.
Personally, I do not believe that children today are going to search out erotic novels the way they might search for the latest copy of Hustler, or Clare Castel movie. At this time with no tag or separate classification of erotic books it is going to be extremely time consuming for them to find books of this nature; putting all the erotic books, and who is going to make the decision if they are erotic or not, into one section is only going to make it a beacon, something I think nobody wants.

One of my favorite SF writers Robert A. Heinlein, has written many books that, when they came out, would have been considered Erotica, based on the contents of the story. These days? Hah! Not likely!
Pretty much what I was trying to say here. (But more clearly defined

Well, thank you Bo.
Thank you, red6devil, I was getting worried about having to move all my posts, as soon as I looked at one and thought the content was 'too erotic' for the novel section, I'd find more, might as well move them all over and be done with it!

But you put it clearer!!
Can I stop panicking about my posts' now everyone? Maybe the alternative is to move them on request? If someone finds the post offensive they can pm the poster?

I'm so glad to hear that! There are so many little literary bastards out there, the last thing the literary world needs is more of them. Although, I hear that in 99% of the books, the fathers actually come to realize what a monumental mistake they made leaving poor Erato destitute, disowned and preggers, man up and come back to raise the child, it also dawns on them at this point that Erato is one really hot looking chick and the only woman they ever loved.
The other 1% of the guys after realizing what a monumental mistake they made leaving poor Erato destitute, disowned and preggers, man up and come back to raise the child, it also dawns on them at this point that Erato is one really hot looking chick and the only woman they ever loved.
But they get killed.
Or so I hear.

Is this discussion still on? The reason I initially spoke out against Erotica/Pron - and still do - is that I'm reading this site via RSS. In RSS, you get ALL the stuff mixed together, regardless of your preferences on the board itself. It's really tiring to have to sift through requests and sections that don't interest me, instead of being able to check what I like at a glance, as I can do with every other RSS feed. For every ten headlines that go to /dev/null, there is one that I want to read. What I'm saying is, if Mobilism could wrap it's head around some technical refinements, i.e. a choice of what parts I get as feed, I couldn't care less about what sections there actually are.

I've never used RSS feed, so I can't give you any suggestions, but does the poster's name show with the release? Maybe by recognising the poster you'll get a hint of whats been posted?
Some of us are consistent in their posts, I regularly post some books from the publisher Siren Bookstrand, but not all of these books are exactly erotica (just to confuse the issue!) some of there books are more mainstream MF suspence and romance of course etc, along with this I do try and post general mainstream books depending on what's prepared. I've agreed to listen to any suggestions and comply if possible but the final say is down to the moderators, I can only apologise if you've caught one of my books and been offended.

I guess I haven't explained myself well enough. At my age one doesn't get offended anymore. This is about seeing only the things that interest me. RSS feeds can't be filtered currently, I get all the sections regardless and have to sift to everything. Try RSS at another site and you will see what a time saver it is. Normally.

Hi womble & HeresJohnny,
sadly the topic starts to end in an off-topic discussion.
This seems to be the correct forum section to start a topic for your wish/concern:

I say yes; that would alleviate any confusion and/or frustration for those either trying to AVOID this type of book, or for those LOOKING for them. I've got to say that it seems as if there are a lot of them posted. When I click on a post thinking that it's a bona fide fantasy book, I always think "Sheesh- another smut book!!" But I am only one person, and only one opinion. But a separate subcategory would clarify for everyone, and would most likely be beneficial.
