I'm trying to download a book onto my iPhone using Stanza as I always do (both the desktop software and the iPhone app) when Im selecting to download the book from the laptop I receive the error.....

Import Failed. Failed to download and import "Through My Eyes": Error 500.

I have tried restarting my phone and also resyncing it with iTunes. Im running ios5 and the book I downloaded from here, any ideas?

Hello, Bown, welcome to Mobilism!

May I suggest you add your device info which you can edit it in User Control Panel ? That way, you'll get faster replies to problems regarding your device.

As you said, adding a book onto your iPhone is not something new, is it ? So, I'm afraid I'm not really sure what seems to be the problem of the error occured, except, the book is DRM-ed or maybe it was a corrupt download. Try to download the book again ? Sorry if I can't help you much, :?

Hi Bown,
i've downloaded the file (viewtopic.php?f=126&t=230155&hilit=through+my+eyes) and opened on my desktop version of Stanza (version 1.0.0-beta18 build #1:413) and it opens fine so the problem would seem to be something on your laptop. sorry can't enlighten you more.

The Book opens fine on Stanza desktop but will not then move over to my phone which is when I receive the message mentioned. My Stanza desktop is version 1.0.0-beta18 build#1:413 exactly the same as red6devil, Stanza iPhone app is 3.2 (I haven't updated as last time I updated it kept closing itself down and I had to downgrade back to 3.2) and my iPhone is IOS 5.0.1. Only difference with what red6devil mentioned is I used the file With uploaded in one of his "New York Times Best Seller" threads so I will try this thread instead and see if it fixes the issue, maybe a dodgy download or something.

EDIT - Just tried it with the other download as well and again Im receiving the same issue. Now I regularly use Stanza and have several books on there that have recently been transferred so I know it's all still working it just seems to be an issue with this one downloaded book, at the minute my only option appears to be reading it using Stanza on my PC unless anyone can shed some light on why it would continue to refuse to download for me?

While i'm no fan of IOS and accordingly have no knowledge of the system, i prefer android, i'm sure there is some other option to send the book to your iphone, e.g. wifi, email, whispernet, dropbox, wifi file transfer pro or rather it's ios equivalent. the book clearly opens and so should not be the problem. good luck and let us know what you manage to do.

Did you try it by emailing yourself the file? I had a problem like that with one book.
