Hi,
It seems Katfile is banned in my country. On using VPN or Tor browser, the katfile servers seems to detect them as black listed. So am in a fix on how to download files from Katfile .Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Type cbox leech on google and find one that allow you download the file you want!

That is what you should do and not come up with wannabe excuses to force uploaders to lose they time to provide what you want.

In My case i will not do it at all. I refuse to re-up any of my topics that still alive and i will take actions against my all work if i see any of my topics be mirrored. I do not care absolute nothing in delete my all work. Is a final end to me here if by any way i be force it to do it.

It is totally your decision to re-up your topic.I do fully understand your irritation & frustration when you come across messages from users asking for alternatives when your other links are active.I had read everything which you had mentioned in your signature & had tried Cbox leech as well but alternative links for katfile was only for VIP users of the site (Leech1s)...So i had no other option other than to PM you for an alternative link..
But its totally fine if you are unwilling to provide an alternative link...Cheers.

Katfile is one darn awful site
Is a trojan and virus installer and fake download links
It's use should be totally banned in this forum

And you name any file host that you like and someone here will have the same issues with that one. Depending on the user, country, region, computer, or whatever, some will find one easier to use, while others will not be able to use it at all.

You have issues with this file host, others do not. Personally, I've found Katfile to be one of the easier file hosts to download from compared to others here. Other people may have found it to be something in between.

The topic you mentioned above is well known to me, so that is not the problem
It is true many other sites have problems and I have used them all and also come across said problems.
However katfile is the only site (at least for me) that after going thru the steps in the above topic numerous times, each time getting horrendous popups finally resulting in a locked pc due to various viruses and trojan installs. My security programs went crazy trying to block them but still my pc got locked with a repeating message you "have a serious problem, call Microsoft and a USA 1800 number. For giggles I called the 1800 number it was "jon" or "fred" with Indian accent telling me they could detect all the viruses being "given off" by my pc and blah blah
it was only having a program called "deep freeze" that saved me; on reboot all the many viruses and trojans were exterminated.
A few harmless popups that are easily closed is fine, but bottom line, no one should have to go thru this type of nonsense of virus and trojan attacks on a storage website.
Thank you for your kind input.

Okay, I thought my previous answer was clear enough, apparently not.

We are not going to ban a site just because YOU have issues with it. Not everyone has the same experience with this filehost. For some, this is a good host - while your favorite might be evil to them. Again, depending on the user, their location, computer, country, region, or whatever, ANY site might be Good or Bad.

Unless or until the site is a major issue (like the recent problem with Zippyshare that was the cause of it being removed from the premium downloader list), we do not restrict the use of a site because a few individuals have problems with it.

Here's a hint: If you have problems downloading from a certain site, don't try to download from it. And certainly don't click on (or call) anything in a pop-up - that's just common sense.

If you tend to get digital pests by using filesharing sites, other less than reputable places on the internet or general careless internet use, I recommend switch to a Linux system. It's non infectable by all the pests that target Microsoft products. You no longer have to worry about trojans, viruses etc and so far nobody has put much effort into programming digital pests that specifically target Linux systems.
If you download and get that problem a lot, I suggest you get yourself an old, otherwise obsolete PC with a Linux specifically for the downloading to keep your main computer with the Microsoft on it clean.

Thanks, this is a very sensible recommendation in general, as long as it is clear that in this particular case the problem does not exist.

The mention of viruses and trojans doesn't make them real. The mere perception of 'dangerousness' in the ads does not make them dangerous, the ads do not turn into viruses or trojans no matter how aggressive or scary they may be.

Which is why we are so specific in our instructions:
... Each time you will get a pop-up that you must close no matter what it says, EVEN IF IT CLAIMS TO BE A VIRUS ALERT FROM WINDOWS.

Tried for a Katfile download today. My Antivirus (avast) claimed a trojan and blocked the page.

While I accept that the rules are the rules, I have no vote on them & I very much need this site....well let me think.

I could load linux. Might work. Might be able to handle the trojans. Then again might just let one take over that a mature Windows AV would block. Plus the learning curve to linux is steep and my brain is a limited resource. These days very limited.

I could disable my AV. Anybody going to tell me that is a good idea?

I could message trojan-killer for a new link.... but he is easily irritated (admittedly with good reason) and chances are ALL Katfile links are effectively unavailable. In that case he will wait for Katfile to clean up their act. The other likely possibility is that it still works for others.... and then just about any uploader would be miffed at my message. Indeed now that I know that most uploaders think of link requests as an irritation rather than a chance to take pride in their work... well I first check if I can get the book from another site, or, increasingly try the other site first.

So. Bottom line. Katfile is not, ah, universally loved.

Sadly, as has been pointed out so many times, the alternatives also have their problems. There are no full solutions but their are plenty of partial ones.
As examples:

*The uploaders could have regular conferences and post a recommended set of upload sites.

*They could also publish a recommended list of utilities. Right now I am using DsnJumper set to google to stop my internet provider (Vodaphone) from blocking sites, and the Chrome extension "Hola free" to bypass the European embargo of Zippyshare. Perhaps somebody even knows one for Katfile?

*Finally (if this hasn't already been done) a set of clear and detailed instructions on how to close a page that doesn't want you to would be a great help. I admit that I have worked it out but the solutions are not obvious.
