Ten Things That You Can't Do With a Book That You Can With a Gadget

1- Make a phone call
2- Use it as an alarm clock
3-

5-
6-

I'm sure that you boys and girls have some other more fun and productive ways of using a gadget. Please complete the list and try to make it more than ten without repeating.

Thanks

If a link is dead and you don't get a reply from me, please refer it to a Mod. Apologies for the inconvenience.

There's nothing like opening a book for the first time and enjoying the smell of them, but between textbooks and notebooks I can't afford to carry any more weight on my back. So Ebooks definitely are more convenient.

You have your (typically but not exclusively) hipster douche who won't dare even touch a digital book, or at least he says he won't, because that makes him sound fascinating and incredibly cultured. And you have your other type who is typically motivated by what's hot (seems to get a new hairstyle and a new cellphone every 3 to 5 months) and who won't dare touch a printed book, or at least says he won't, because he doesn't live in the past, man, he lives at the speed of the world.

Beyond your comfort and aesthetic, it's really only about the art. Its format is irrelevant.

I guess that all of us mostly agree with your point of view, even if it is soooo last week, what we were really trying to do was find out what was it that we liked about each format, not which one was better.

We leave arguments like that to the headgear hipsters and the man bag yuppies.

I prefer e-Books, mainly because I can adjust the text size on my pc.
But if I looovvvee a book beyond words, I try to get the paperback (signed even better), even though I won't read the paperback.

Yes I prefer eBooks BUT if I were to get lazy then I prefer a hardcovered book. I never understood the purpose of paperback.

For me, the paper-back was the pocket version. I've always carried a book around with me, and before the dedicated ereader found that a paperback fitted better into a coat pocket as a rule.

Well yes, they are but it's just weird? Haven't we cut down enough trees? "responsible forestry practices" are just more ink the printer puts on the paper to satisfy the tree huggers.

I definitely prefer e-books. More portable and lots less space. :)

I go along with that statement! The only reason I use ebook readers is because I find it difficult to carry 10-15 books with me in my travels.

I'd concurr with this. The Kindle has really opened up reading for me. I was an avid reader before (often switching between 3 books at any one time) but being able to take (essentially) a whole library with me is just fantastic!

I prefer eBooks on my kindle. It really has helped me to start to read more often. Before I got my kindle the only things I read were magazines and textbooks for college. It's way too convenient.
