I prefer ebooks since there aren't that many books translated in my language and it's easier to get ebooks.

Printed books were a great read and a fine experience, but reading has evolved since then, and now the trend is of E-Books and we should flow with the trend instead of grabbing onto old things. On the other hand, E-Book readers provide way more ease and mobility as compared to the printed books.

I love both depending on what book I read. If it's a classic or a difficult one to read, I prefer e-book as it could give you definition right away. But I like the feel of physical book, including its smell..I'm not a freak I just like the smell of printed book. It gives me the smell of intellectualism :)

I vastly prefer ebooks. Not just the portability, but also being able to highlight to remember sections I like. I never highlight in paper books, it seems like defacing the book, but no such qualms in an ebook.

I love reading ebooks because I can choose any theme to read and my parents won't know about it. But non-erotic books are better printed because when I go to work, I go by train and I can read them and not sleep specialy in the mornings.

They are both good but they are different. I like the look and feel of real books and like browsing in a bookshop or thro' my own books but I have moved to a small flat & ebooks are tiny so that one is not optional. I also like my books to be catalogued in a certain way on the shelves but still need to figure out how to do that on my PC/Kindle.
Ebooks have opened up new books to me and it's possible to get out of print books so enooks win there.
If only there was a waterproof Kindle - books work after a dip in the bath.

PS Why are ebooks sometimes more expensive than physical books?!?

depends on what i'm reading/where/etc.

ereader is great for holidays, as i can take the reader and all the books i possibly want on it.

for books i need to read for work, etc, i still like being able to highlight, mark up, flip through physically. so my reading on the ereader is for pleasure rather than work.

i'm the sort who used to always take 8 books on holidays and stillneed to buy a few before returning home. no more of that! i'm now the one who packs light. :D

From +50 books onwards (even a bit before, actually) an ebook is more ecological and cheap -specially when you consider classical literature and such. However the most ecological thing to do is to go to a library :P

I enjoy both. Ebooks are cheaper and its easier to carry around (I have [in total] a 3 hour work commute each day) so it helps loads.

But there's nothing like browsing through a book shop, or just SMELLING the books.

Wow, 3H commute - thats hardcore!

What I do wonder is how bad is all the "harvesting" done for an ebook: coltan for example

We have different opinion about this matter. I can say that both parties have correct point of views. EBooks are a technology whose time has come. But don't be so quick to give up the printed page. There are still explanations why books are better than eBooks. So, take time to enjoy what could possibly be lost.

Print books. Ebooks are too impersonal and mechanistic. I've used ebooks but will continue to read print books because I have photophobia caused by viral meningitis almost thirty years ago.

Love ebooks but it took some time getting used to. I love being able to have many books for travel on one device rather than packing a bunch of heavy novels.

personally i choose printed books. But since i'm short on funds and my sister won't buy me 10 books on a single transaction, i resorted to ebooks. I still plan to buy the ebooks i've read to add it to my collection and probably re-read it again :D
