So, I went to Amazon to download an ebook. Under "Manage Your Content and Devices" where you I normally download an ebook to my PC, then into my Calibre program, they have now not only changed the entire page payout, but it seems when you hit "Download and Transfer via USB," instead of going to go to whatever Kindle Device you own, it does something completely different. It asks which Kindle you want it to go to, then a pop up appears that says " "Download your Kindle content to your computer via Your Media Library." In the previous set up, it would go to whatever download folder you designated on your PC. Then, I would happily open it in Calibre. Not anymore! Looks like they are really clamping down on doing what those of us have previously happily been doing for years! I'm beyond pissed, dammit! I'm hoping some brilliant mind beyond my pay grade comes up with a work around.

Not sure what the problem is. When I click Transfer to USB, it tries to open a new window or tab - which I have blocked. Firefox then shows a little bar with Options on it. I click that, then click the link and choose my preferred target folder.

Yeah, the new layout is ugly and less informative at a glance, but whatta ya gonna do?

So what's the problem you're having?

Thanks for responding. When I go to "Manage Your Content and Devices" on Amazon, the entire page now has an entirely different layout. Each book is outlined in a box. Within that box, on the right, are buttons. Deliver or remove from Device, Mark as Read and More Actions. When you hit the More Actions button, a drop down opens with several actions, including Download and Transfer via USB. Then, another box opens asking which device (your Kindle names). That is when "Download your Kindle content to your computer via Your Media Library" comes up. What Media Library? It is not saved to my PC. I then sent it to myself via WiFi, opened my Kindle on my PC thinking I could copy it from my Kindle to my PC, but NO! It has all kinds of weird extensions and different files, not the usual that I see when I did it before. By the way, I have Firefox. A few days ago, it updated. And, now my problem.

FIGURED IT OUT!!! I was not getting that Firefox bar with options on it. I added the wrong Amazon address to my "exceptions" to pop ups. Got it now.

THANK YOU, thank you, thank you. Your clue in your description led me to my mistake. :D

If you choose "Deliver to default device (OR) Others" and select which of your registered devices (laptop, phone, tablet, whatever you have setup) you want to deliver it to and it will deliver wirelessly to the Kindle app in that device. If you deliver it to a Windows PC it will also appear in your "My Kindle Content" folder.

If perchance, you wanted to further work on the ebook in Calibre, you just drag and drop it from your "My Kindle Content" folder into Calibre.
