I have searched but cannot find the answer to this:

Amazon currently have some very good Pre-Black Friday deals on Kindle Paperwhites, but their tech spec says it does not support ePub.

Does this still apply if you side-load directly from Calibre, or have they come up with a way to prevent the files from being read on the device? My very old (2012) Kindle is more than happy with ePub and there's no point changing the device if all my fiction has to be converted to a different format.

Thank you

I have a Kindle paperwhite, about 3 years old, and my partner, has a paperwhite about 6 months old, no problems uploading epub books from Calibre

Huh. I've always had to convert my epubs into mobi or azw3 files to read them on my Kindle Paperwhite. Is there a setting that I'm missing?
