There was a time when I could find an eclectic cornucopia of books there (my collection is testament). However, in recent years my time scrolling the nonfiction section has gone to virtually zero. Why? Because 99% of the books are broadly comprised of How To's and DIY. Not that those are bad... I find some useful. But that it's literally choked with them.

I wonder in some ways if the new-ish era of self publishing has created a glut of content, predominantly of amateurish quality. Same with music and film/video. Everyone and their grandmothers are in on it. Also find the past number of years there's a glut of indie films, and not in a good way, on scene release sites.

Wither the once wild west golden age of the internet I suppose, lol.

You are very right. Too many books like this. ( How to, etc) mindfulness is choking me.

A nice moderator (long gone now) once told me that if there were no interest for those books they wouldn't be allowed, to look at the number of views and downloads and never presume that a personal point of view is shared by the majority. Two million members now, imagine the number of opinions.
