If a book has been filmed then i prefer to see the movie first before read the book. Because, due to the limited duration and differences of our imagination with the film makers, usually the movie will have (sometimes) significant modification.

So if i read the book first and watch the movie later, not always but usually, will ruin my imagination of the book.

BTW i like watching movies with a lot of special effects, so i think i would like to see books with fantasy or scifi genre get filmed, you know like Lord of The Rings, Star Wars, etc.

I very rarely like the movie translation from a book, so I can't think of any book that I want to ruin this way

YES.
I'd also like to see The Queen's Thief series as movies.

Mostly, though, the books I want to see brought to screen would need some sort of mini-series or actual TV series. The Inda series by Sherwood Smith, Deathless by Catherynne M Valente, the first Kushiel trilogy by Jacqueline Carey, The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell...the list of books I'd love to have brilliantly produced series of goes on, but I guess it's for the better that they're left alone

I would love it if the other books from Eragon were made into movies.

I'll go with none. I'm always disappointed by the movie versions, so if I read a book, I won't see the movie. If I see the movie first, it won't ruin the book though, but I will generally still like the book better.

The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall. (I like the challenge of potentially "unfilmable" books, as Naked Lunch used to be considered.)

All of the James Lee Burke, Dave Robicheaux series. There was just one made years ago -- that I know of.

None actually. I've made the mistake of reading many books over the years and then seeing the screen versions (in a lot cases the only thing they have in common is the title). More than once I've almost been turfed out of a theatre for venting my spleen on the hatchet jobs Hollywood has done. Now I just wait until the DVD versions to appear.
