How many books do you read a year?

I average about 100. Calculating the average life expectancy and this rate I’ll only finish around 2,700 books from now until I die.

My want to read list is around 5,000 books

Jeebus that’s a lot of reading, I can only average 1 a week

Depending on how good the book is, and if work isn't insanely busy, 2-3 books per week. Many of these are re-reads, not new books.

In the summertime I can average 4 books per week when I'm not traveling.

Usually 1-2 a week. Just depends on free time and length of book, can get 3 a week at times.

Before covid about 20-30, now maybe 2-4

I keep track in Calibre - easy to do by adding a User Defined field.

So far this year I've 'consumed' 160+ fiction and 93 non-fiction.
Will not have read every single word in the non-fiction.
Today is "Day 317" of the year so it's only half a fiction book per day

2021 was 141 fiction and 152 non-fiction.

I read a lot, especially in recent years.

I started reading in 2015 but up until 2018 started I never went over 100 books a year. I did 182 for 2018. The numbers for the next years are: 2019 I did 231 and for 2020 I did 225.
2021 was the year when I leveled up so to speak, I did 336.

Right now I am at 387 books for 2022 (average is 35-40 books a month), but it will go up by the end of the year. If I follow the same pattern as the rest of the year I will end up doing around 450 books total this year. Which is insane, even for me (⊙⁠.⁠☉)

I don't often 'read' books, but I listen to audio. I average about 2-3 a week, listening when I'm driving, out with my dog, at the gym and so forth. I especially listen to lull me to sleep (if anyone has problems falling asleep I highly recommend this method) or if I wake up too early. I find I'm addicted to audiobooks and really miss them if I forget my phone
