I first got my kindle about 18 mos ago when I had surgery and was going to be home for a few weeks. Since then my Kindle tells me I have purchased and archived 118 ebooks, in addition during the same time period I have purchased approximately 50 print books, same ratio of bargain books to full price for either myself or my kids. Of course many of these ebook and print book titles were less than $5 but at least a third were 9.99 or more. Of course I have hundreds maybe even over a thousand print books that I've collected over my lifetime.

Since I have come to Mobilism, I buy one book per week for myself and release it here, OR I purchase a book simply for another Mobilism patron to fill their request, not just for WRZ$ but simply to say thanks for the uploads and make them happy.

I am a great customer for Amazon.. In addition to purchasing books there regularly for years, I have also purchased six e-readers for myself and for my family. ALSO I have Amazon prime. I am such a good customer that I have cracked or dropped Kindles and returned them and had a new one sent next day air - several times and Amazon were very kind and charged me nothing - even when I was past the 1 yr warranty - I bought no extended warranty. Also, those kindles were full of all sorts of books - and they didn't say a word. Why? I'm guessing because I am an excellent and long time customer - I buy more than most people do on Amazon.com, not just ebooks either but many things.

Not trying to justify myself (okay maybe a little) but the point is I am not a total freeloader. I am also a voracious reader and legit customer. Sharing a book I dearly loved with others who may love it as well brings me almost as much pleasure as reading it the first time! I know that most authors are also voracious readers and love to see people reading. That brings me so much happiness - to think of people turning off their computers and TVs and just sitting down and reading. What about you all?

Since last year (when I went "e"), around 30 - 40. Still buying not many less then that in paper (and sometimes they are duplicates) for my Mother & Mother-in-law (both of whom have tried and sadly not been able to master an e-reader).

FYI- I am unhappy that my favorite e-retailer "Booksonboard.com" seems to have bit the dust. Althought they did not have the biggest shelf, they had great prices. Diesel a close second.

So we are all still buying books as well! That's what I thought. I just read more and read better quality books. AND I get to be in a community full of people who love to read and trade books. Win-Win!

Precisely one which I released here and it was DMCAed. It was the first release of that particular book on the internet. I will buy more because some are simply not available elsewhere. I do buy a lot of paper books and I have about 700+ in my collection.

I stopped counting because I have bought so many. I often get gift vouchers for ebooks, so that also helps. Then again, if you think about it, I only buy books to ease my conscience, because any book is available for free, somewhere on the Internet.

I also feel good when I buy a book, because the authors deserve it and they need to stay creative. And lets face it, if they make money, they are more relaxed and they write more! 8) ....and I get to read more! (Jeez!!! I'm selfish!! :) ))

I have also stopped counting, anyway, who can put a price or a number on a book? They are countless and priceless.

This message brought to you by the letter : P

Oh yeah, just like Mr. B, I too am a selfish bastard. :)

I´ve only been at ebboks for the last couple of mounths. I download low qualitybooks like harlequin here, and I buy the ones I really think is good. But books I know I want to keep for years I buy on paperback. Just incase of data errors. And there is nothing (in bookform) that can beat the feeling of a "real" book.
This far I´ve bought about 10 ebooks. The reason for me to download is low income. Ether I download, or I don´t read.

And the reason for downloading harlequin and books like that here is that they are easy to read and I get to practise my reading english so I can read other books I have in my shelf that has a mush more complicated english.

Nearly a thousand, I'm sure. Have been buying e-books for years, and downloading has not stopped me from buying. Quite the opposite actually, I buy just as much as I ever did.

About twenty of so in the past month or two. Mainly because I couldn't find them here or anywhere else and I'm creating a portable library for life. I also like sharing my purchases.
