I read the synopsis; it sounds OK-ish. Maybe a little dreary. Can you tell us why you feel unenthusiastic about it?

It's kinda slow, but that's not unusual for the first book in a procedural series. The story revolves around a missing politician, and jumps back and forth between the victim and the policeman trying to solve the case. What the bad guys do to the victim is..........just too much for me. Not grossly violent, but very very very mean and cruel. I did finish it but I won't read anything else in that series.

It's a shame. I read it to try a new genre. He's a very popular Scandinavian author, and many people love the books. I'm just not one of them. :(
